Thanks for the feedback. You're the second person in timesheet that doesn't require police check.

I added you to the timesheets. Thanks and welcome to the forum even though you are almost done. Final interview and then you're done.

Hello, Screech. Do you know anything about this last interview, landing interview? What will they ask? Should we bring some new photos and proofs that we are family, or its pretty much just the formality, and the decision already has been made?

My wife landed at etobicoke office. The whole process is quick and simple. Pay your fee online, print the receipt and bring it with you to landing. Bring 2 Permanent pictures and any immigration documents you have, ie visitor records, OWP, etc. They are CIC's property. They may look at them and give it back or keep it, it is up to them. Make sure your sponsor is there too with drivers licence. This is to confirm ID and address. They will ask you typical 3 questions. 1. Have you been convicted in Canada. 2. Have you ever been deported or denied entry to canada. 3. Do you have any other dependents not listed in application. After you answered the 3, you sign initials where asked and sign at bottom of COPR paper and you are done. You "landed". You don't even have to leave Canada to change "status". Make sure the entry dates are correct. Make sure they ask for your address so they can send you your PR card.

After you land, you will be sent back to waiting area to be called again to get a permanent SIN. After you give your parents maiden names, you get your number.

You are done finished. What's left is PR card to arrive in mail. You cannot board a commerical transport without your PR card back to Canada but since you are from US, you can drive back and forth by car. Show your COPR at border and you will be let back in. Also since you are from US, you are more likely to be overlooked not carrying your PR card since you are from a visa exempt country.

No problem.

Made an additional note to my posting. Since you are from the US, airlines will likely overlook the fact that you don't have your PR card with you since you are from a visa exempt country.

One other note: etobicoke office tend to take a long time to send you a landing letter. We kept calling CIC after 6 weeks has passed. And kept it up on a weekly basis until we got the landing landing on our 9th week after landing. So if you don't have a letter by 6 weeks, start calling CIC to get CIC on etobicoke's case to get that letter out to you.

That is correct. You don't need to submit police check in you entered Canada under age of 18 and you didn't leave Canada since then even after turning 18.

Hi everyone, congrats to those receiving their AIP's and DM's. Just found this site and am hoping someone can answer a question for me. I received my DM email on the 3rd of Sept. It says to be prepared to pay the RPRF. Does this defiantly mean second stage approval? Has anyone ever received this and gotten a rejection in the mail?

You can add me to your timeline if you like. I'm from London, England. Application was inland, living in beautiful British columbia :) The DM email states that the Vancouver office will be contacting me...anyone know how long this can take??

Application received June 22nd 2012.
Processing Jan 2nd 2013
Medicals done in feb 2013
No OWP
Decision made 3rd sept 2013

I did not know about the 6 weeks, thank you.. So to be clear, landing letter is an invitation to the landing interview, so it is coming before the landing. Or did I misunderstood? And after landing I will only be waiting for arrival of my PR card

Yes the landing letter is the landing appointment. It will come to you by snail mail. Not email. The letter will contain directions what to do like pay fees, if applicable, bring valid passport, any immigration papers and the like. It will give you a specific day and time. So show up early enough before your interview time. If you missed it, they will reschedule you again. Bring appointment letter with you to show at reception.

After landing and getting your Perm SIN, only thing left to do is wait for your PR card to arrive in the mail, about 70 days after you land.

Hi guys. I called today to Immigration and I ask them if I can apply for OWP and if it's possible to work until they make a decision in my PR application....and the answer was NO, I can't work . And I told him that I find an information that I can apply for OWP and work since first stage is approved, until DM....and he said I can apply for work permit like other people, and I need an employer ,LMO .....
So, that means I must wait...and wait...... :(
