I rang to the call centre today and they told me that the time limit for Vancouver office has changed and now it's 5 months for the landing interview since your final decision has been made for stage 2. In my case two months has passed and I am waiting for the letter so I need to extend my work permit once more. Now again wait for landing interview. Its been around two years so seems like till I get my pr it would be 2.5 years.

My advice: wait until the day before your work permit expires. Submit the application on paper via courier (so they receive it BEFORE the current permit expires). That way you maximize the chance that you'll land before they get to your work permit. If that happens, they will refuse your work permit (permanent residents aren't eligible for work permits) and refund your application fee.

You'll be covered by implied status in the interim.

Five months seems excessive for a local landing appointment. But that office does seem busy (it is around the corner from my gym and I see people queued there routinely before 8 am...)

I have been searching for topic INLAND APPLICATIONS 2011 and I can't find. And I am starting this topic because my time line is:
We received xxxxxxxxxxxxxx's application for permanent residence on September 19, 2011.

We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on September 19, 2011.

We started processing your application on November 30, 2011.

Medical results have been received on August 20, 2012.

Today I spoke with CIC and they told me very strange version of what they told me last time. The lady on the phone tells me that I am still on the first stage. She also tells me that my file has been transferred to CIC Etobicoke February 2013, because CIC Vegreville are unable to decide my case since 09/2011 - year and a half Undecided Shocked
Couple a days ago I order ATIP's on my case electronically and I am waiting. Also I told the CIC operator I want to make a complaint against CIC and waiting time, and she tells me CIC Complaints Division will call me up to 2 business days to discuss my complaint.
Is anybody on the same boat like me? Is anybody spoke with CIC Complaints Division before?
Any help will be very gratefull

How long does it take to receive your open permit and your aip letter after its been approved???like the days it take to reach u??
if your online status say 1st this month when can u expect to get it???

because for me its been more than a month and we have not received any letter or any owp or anything so i am really confused ???

Oh my gosh, I have been waiting for exactly two years since I submitted my application, and I am still waiting for the DM.
I don't know why it takes so long since they told me everything in my file looks good. It's kinda wasting my life for waiting for this, because it makes my life much tougher. Hope you have good news soon.

In my case, i think I received the letters and OWP within one week after the AIP was approved. It all depends sometimes, but I suggest you to call them now since it has been one month. It probably would be delivered or something else.

Hello, My journey is now over.
I landed on July 2nd, 2013 at victoria CIC office.
It was July 2nd, 2013 at 9:10Am when I got a unknown phone call, She was a lady. She asked me If I am in Victoria to come to the office and sign the permanent resident card. otherwise, wait longer until October at Nanaimo CIC office. I asked what time, She answered: 4pm. I was working that time . I immediately went back home for preparation. At 4pm I was in, my interview went smoothly: Only 3 simple questions and then she said: Welcome to canada!!! As I said, I got the landing appointment on the same day by call, after 2months waiting time. I got DM May13th,2013. Never ignore unknown calls!!!

Hi everyone,
I checked my ecas this morning. Finally a decision has been made and office will let me know the decision. Just the last stage of waiting. Hope tht I will get letter in few days. I applied in august 2011, got Aip in OCT 2012 and on 29th may decision for stage 2 have been made. Thanks for everyone who stayed in contact during this period.
