Marcus - your point is clear and well taken! Let me assure you, (if not everyone), I do understand why fudging an answer is not only unethical, but also fraught with serious danger. Thanks for re-iterating it though!

As doubleym articulated, this is an online form. It mixes qualifications with paperwork required. In this particular thread, for example, its related to ECA for existing qualifications. It doesnt call out clearly in the system that an ECA is required as a pre-requisite for completing the online application. It does call out for IELTS scores though.

Thanks again. Really helpful!

Can I go ahead, create a new profile and this time mark 'Yes' for the Canadian educational assessment? In parallel, I could go ahead and work with my universities to send across the transcripts to WES etc.
Hi,
I can say, goahead and create new dummy profile with dummy email id, use date of births near to your actuals to make sure you are not caught. this will tell you whether you are eligible or not.
Btw, you got good score in IELTS, can you share some links for materials and how much time we need to spend on it.

Hi Bhagya,

I'd preferably wait and scan this forum for similar issues. This may help pinpoint the root cause. As of now, the ECA is the only thing I can think off. I am trying to understand the best and quickest way to get it done.

For IELTS, most English speakers would manage well. I didn't prepare anything special - just went through some youtube videos just to familiarize myself with what to expect during the test. A tip - practice the listening test if you can. Its more of a test of attentiveness, than the English language :)

This is very true, as a native English speaker I was actually quite surprised at how deceptively tricky some of the listening questions were, if it wasn't your mother tongue I could see why people would have a hard time with it.

If you were dealing with an officer who just told you you were ineligible, after having previously told you you were eligible, then you could ask him exactly why are you suddenly ineligible.
You must have never had to appear in person for a visa interview. I have and I do remember what it was like: I was talking to the officer through a double-pane glass, and on each side of me there were security guards, just standing there, ready to grab me by my elbows and escort me outside as soon as the officer said I'm ineligible. The officer's decision was FINAL. There was no arguing with her (which is what applicants really want to do, rather than just ask for reasons as to why they're found ineligible).

Fortunately for the interview I just described I was approved so the guards didn't touch me but I saw what happened to the rejected applicants. Soon as they started asking 'Why?' they got hauled outside.

You can't do that with the online system, the only way for these people is to try different responses to work out what exactly is wrong, they aren't exactly submitting these profiles with inaccurate information, at least I'd hope they aren't!

This was how someone worked out that even though the CEC stream is stated as accepting non-continuous experience, the CRS calculator doesn't and is reporting people as ineligible when technically they should be, judging by all of the published information available from CIC.

You are obviously right about people who submit 'tweaked' profiles that aren'y 100% truthful, I do hope these people aren't doing that...
I think you're still missing my point, and that is that people won't take No for an answer, even if it's arrived at through correct information, so the instinct is to look for ways to get a positive outcome. Needless to say, the "Ineligible" outcome could be correct but that doesn't make applicants accept it.

As well, just because you got a positive response doesn't mean you never made an error on your answers. I think we both know though that nobody ever looks for errors after getting a positive response. The goal is not to be truthful. It's to get what they want.

Dears

I suggest anyone should not continue unnecessary conversation as the purpose of the post is to get a solution.

People are asking a plain simple question that why are they initially shown as eligible to apply, why they have sufficient points based on instructions but still are considered as ineligible by the system. If someone know the answer then speak else better to remain silent. Personal opinions can be shared on facebook or twitter.

If so many people are getting this problem then there could be some noteworthy reason to which people are not aware or there could even be problem with the system. After all, it is still not formally started.

Now if anyone know the answer of this dilemma then please share without making unnecessary judgmental statements about what people feel.

Hi all, my EE online application ended up as ineligible...

Age :35
10+ years exp IT experience
degree : mechanical engineering India

Is this because my education background and experience doesn't match? is it necessary that both of these need to match? :'(

Not in the EE system. It doesn't care about your experiences and NOC code. I've heard people used more than 1 NOC code to combine experiences and didn't work for them. Also I think continuous work is required. And check your ECA/Language test.

In the actual application, unless there is a huge discrepancy which raise concerns of legitimacy (e.g. Auto mechanic diploma & Art professor), it shouldn't be a problem either.

If I'm right, your spouse must have a mínimum of 6 in all IELTS skills, to get points. maybe that's why your score wouldn't be of 68 but 63.

What!? I'm a contractor and obviously there will always some gaps between contracts! Has there been any more information on this (and how to get around it)?

Which part of "Ineligible" do people NOT understand?

If the system's telling you that you're ineligible, then that's exactly what it means: you're ineligible. End of discussion.

It does NOT mean go back and play around with your responses until you get the outcome you want. That's misrepresentation and it certainly won't hold up at the real stage, the paper application, when they review your documents and verify the claims you've made online.

You might as well go ahead and put Albert Einstein's qualifications in YOUR profile. You may get an invitation but it won't mean shi.t when they do the paper review of your case. It's a lot like all the rejected foreign student visa applicants. Everyone lies on their applications in order to look good, only to be refused a visa when they find out the applicant's stated qualifications are not genuine.
Your response was way OTT. Pretty unnecessary really.

All the OP was asking, was for advice on the possiblereasons he would be ineligible. Hardly grounds for launching into your rubbish diatribe. Maybe take a chill pill and re-read the OP?

Thanks, But the link you sent is for primary applicant and I am already having 6 in each band ,to claim points for spouse in IELTS you should have CLB level 4..thats also meeting the requirement.

Now the only hope is waiting for my PER which I applied in OCT 2014

Yeah you're right,

Other user reported having a similar problem. When he checked his App, he found out he hadn't put the title he obtained in his education. You could check that up to.
