If you submit an application now for 1122 without a job offer (i.e. FSW1 not FSW2) it will simply be returned. They will not hold it in a queue.

The earliest they will consider it again is if they receive it on or after 1st July 2011. However this depends on whether the NOC code 1122 is still in the in-demand list by then, since that list is subject to change at any time.

Best advice is either try to secure a job with an LMO (Labour Market Opinion - get a job offer and a temporary work permit and apply for visa from within Canada whilst working there) or AOE (Arranged Employment Offer - get a job offer then apply for visa before you go over there), OR be prepared to submit a fresh FSW1 application under 1122 on 1st July 2011.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Hi Cappucino,

Could you let us know if you are certain the cap has reached? It seems from your statement above that it has reached the cap. If you could point the source that would be of great help in determining if I should send my application or not. Last I checked the forum, it appeared that only 740 slots were full not the entire quota of 1000.

Thanks

it is over
It is not over - it is only over if you want it to be.

You can still apply as a Federal Skilled Worker under Category 2 if you secure a job offer. You can still possibly apply under one of the many other routes to a Permanent Residents' Visa such as PNP (applying to the Provincial government rather than the Federal government).

You could just wait it out and try to apply from July 2011. The previous in-demand NOC list was active for over 2 years, so there will not necessarily be any changes to the list in July, and even if there is, there is every chance that 1122 will still be on the list.

Don't give up! :)

Wayne.
