I want to immigrate under pnp programe and passed an immigration med. exam recently. I'm HIV+, 1 stage and on antiretroviral treatment. I received a letter from an immigration officer stating that my treatment according to the medcine i've been prescribed may pose a financial burden (it's more than 6 300$ annually so I have to present a mitigation plan explaining how I can mitigate the financial burden for the next 5 years. The point is that medications i've been prescribed cost 1500$/month in Canada but there is an alternative medication which cost 195$/month (in Canada), i.e. no more than 2400$/year. Maybe someone had a similar situation? providing this 5- year mitigation plan to porsuade an officer that you'll be able to buy treatment by yourself and won't demand excessive financial services from the government?

I would recommend you search this forum for past threads on the subject of HIV and fairness letters (there are many old discussions that may be very helpful). Search on "fairness" as well as "HIV".

I would suggest you contact member computergeek here on the forum, as he is very knowledgeable about this subject.
