Hello,

So I'm 21 old year guy, from Portugal. I've been dating this Canadian girl for the last 11 months who's only 16, I do believe she's the one and I want to move there with her.
I visited her this August and I stood over her parents house , who really liked me by the way and they are okay with me dating their daughter even if she's only 16, I can probably live in their house until I got my own apartment and I want to move As soon as possible, she happens to be from Quebec too so I'm having french lessons every week until July.

I belive the best way would be she sponsor me? Or do I need to apply too? And since quebec permit is different how should I do it?
So can she sponsor me to go live there? How's it done? I can wait until shes 17 for do this, can her parents sponsor me too? Would it be stronger if the 3 of them would sponsor me? Or only 1 sponsor is allowed?
Whats the best/fastest VISA for me?
I plan to go there in 1-2years, but the sooner the better of course.

She cannot sponsor you until she is 18 . Her parents cannot sponsor you at all.

You pretty much have to wait until she is 18 years old to be able to sponsor you. She cannot sponsor you as common-law as you are required to live together for at least 1 year. Something that you can't do. So the only option is to wait until she is 18 and then get married. After that she can sponsor you.

Is there any other way without me being sponsored to get there faster?
Can I enter without a visa in a "holidays" find a job and get the paperwork done ? Or since it's quebec I cannot do that and I have to apply?

I do not belive she wants to marry me at the age of 18, because if she sponsor me for marriage she would the responsible for me for a long period of time no?

The rules today would mean that she would be responsible for you for 3 years if she was able to sponsor you. In the future, it might be longer... You need to visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index-can.asp and investigate alternative options.

If you marries you, she is financially responsible for you for 3 years after you get landed.

There are other options like IEC, also known as working holidays. But you can only use this visa once if you qualify. Other options includes apply for study visa. You can go to school here while you date your girlfriend.

With the new rules of Permanent Resident now in place, since you have no children yet and marriage less then 2 years, your permanent resident status would be conditional for 2 years. If you divorce or break up before your 2 years are up, you lose your PR status and expect you to leave asap or be deported out.

Unfortunately IEC is not an option. Portugal is not included in the program.

You will have to take into consideration the fact that getting in Canada with a study visa will not automatically make you a Permanent Resident and will not automatically grant you the privilege of remaining in Canada for as long as you want. If you want to know what you will have to do after getting in with a study visa, read this: http://www.canadavisa.com/transitioning-from-a-student-visa-to-permanent-residency-what-you-need-to-know.html

Also, marrying your girlfriend right when she becomes the legal age for sponsoring you will raise some questions with CIC if you will not have enough proof that your relationship is really solid, not just some arrangement you are tolerating for the sole purpose of becoming a Canadian resident.

You *can* marry her at 16 with consent from both parents. She just can't sponsor you until she's 18. Marriage will have no effect on your status in Canada though.

Agreed. A study visa is also an expensive and by no means a guaranteed option for getting you to Canada.

You'll need to have a bank account balance of $25K to $30K just to be approved for a student visa. You will also have to demonstrate that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans to remain in Canada long term.

An 18-yr old marrying a 21-yr old.......Portugal is not one of the countries known for teenage-marriages......

It's better you find an alternate way to immigrate, why not complete your study, get some experience in Portugal, etc and then apply for immigration in economic class, like most others do?

Seems you just wanna use her to get into Canada, just look at her age she's only 16.

If this was happening in some muslim countries, everyone would be all over for forcing a 16yr old to marry......

No offense but it won't fly with immigration...

When she is 18, he will be probably 23... I guess that, having done some basic math, she must have been 15 when they started "dating". Not sure if this would be a positive or negative impact on an application.

Why don't you just ask her to come live with you instead? She's Canadian, and can easily go to Portugal for a visit. Show her around, the best places to eat, what people there do for fun, the nightlife, etc. Show her to your parents, go on a few dates together and eat some fine dining courtesy of Portugal. In my opinion, doing this way is less hassle for everyone.

Probably because at 16 she hasn't finished high-school yet. And in case she fast-tracked and really did, then she is likely headed for post-secondary education. Allowed to date at 16 is one thing, quitting high-school to move a different country is quite another.
