Applied : Mar 2009
File number : Jun 2009
Doc request : Feb 2010.
I was getting curious, so called AINP yesterday and they told me it is gonna take couple of months for final approval.
I wanted to make sure, so called them again today and the answer was the same.
Any one else had the same experience.

Seems like it can take several weeks to several months to get nomination after doc request

I am really not sure how much time it takes to get Nomination after Doc Request.

But this whole AINP deal has been extremely disappointing. People with Masters from U.S have to wait for 1.5 years before they get doc request and when they do, they have to wait for many months for nomination. Anyhow guys better concentrate on your U.S GC. I know no one will go to Canada even if u get nomination, because there are no jobs there. How will u support urself and ur families. You need to pay ur bills. Atleast U.S gives us $$$. Can you really leave U.S to go to a new country. I know many friends who even getting Canadian PR, fear to even to go to Canada.

Thanks,
NN

my general observation ...

Disappointing, sure but so far Ainp has/d also been the only hope for many...As far as the choice versus $ goes, having a job or no job is a possibility in any country at any time but race for $ is totally different than getting a PR. PR is only for those people who want to settly down in life and want to create/work on their options once settled at a place. Whether by working for someone or for themselves or opening a business would all be choices depending on their creativity and ability based on the environment at the time. It is sad that people consider PR's as GC back ups or $ makers... Like they say, 'Too much is never enough'

Firasj78 what number and extension did you call to get you filE number?

Is there anyone on this forum who applied in a non-IT category?
Application sent: August 1, 2009
Application received: October, 2009

No news after that--not even a file number.

Koolchick.

I hope u are one serious candidate who can get the nomination and go to Canada. I agree with u. Using Canada
just as a back up is not good. Kindly inform us when u get nomination. It seem people have to wait for months before getting
nomination after doc request. Looks like people who got doc request in Feb, 10 are also waiting. dont know what AINP, is really doing.

Thanks,
NN

As I mentioned before, my bold guess is that there is no correlation between doc req and nomination issuing.

mafoi said:
It seems that AINP is doing doc request right now just to quickly screen all the candidates in order to find out how many are still eligible. It has nothing to do with application date, file # received or not. I guess they are probably trying to figure out the size of candidate pool. In other words, this round of doc request has no indication of the trend of nomination. Yeah, I am bored. I may be wrong.

Ok thanks Lovepool.

I think they are taking approx 3.5 months after doc request for nomination.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks,
NN

Well stated, and I share your thoughts. Canadian immigration for some of us is to be able to continue to live in NA (esp. for us who have grown up kids who've lived most of their lives in US).

However, there are others who came more recently to US with the same hopes (incl $$ hopes) like "some of us" came with. With the current scenario in US, losing a job appears too common place and looking to Canada for stability is a natural extension. And I find no fault with the newer entrants wishing to realize their hopes in Canada.

Wishing the best for all of us.
