Hello! :D

I want your honest opinion about our story..

My husband is from Quebec. We know eachother for 1 year and a half now (we met online on Chatroulette - purely random :p we were both curious about it and wanted to see people from around the world!)
We married 3 months ago. I know it seems fast (we're young too, i'm 21 and he's 23), but we really fell in love and we go so so well together! For me it's a dream come true to find someone that truly seems to be my soulmate :)

I do have loads of Skype conversations, facebook conversations & photos & comments posted, we have a lot of photos (went in trips together too!), he met my whole family and everyone likes him. I didn't get the chance yet to meet his family (i will this next summer! i wanna go there for 2 months), but i do talk with his mom & sister on skype & facebook (trying hard with my bad french :D) and we really like eachother!

Honestly we married because we love eachother but obviously also because we want to be together and this seems the only way, if he sponsores me to come there. He won't move to my country (Romania) as it is a poor country and there's no point. I want a better life aswell.

Would CIC doubt our relationship? Would be so stupid because we really love eachother! I'm a bit (more :'() concerned about it!

Please tell me what you think of this. Do we have a chance? Is it suspicious? I'm afraid 'cause i don't want to stay too many years in a distance relationship like this, it will obviously affect us...

Thanks in advance for your replies!! :-* This forum is awesome btw!!

So far, i don't see anything suspicious from CIC's point of view. You got married at least after a year of meeting so that is not bad. Both of you are a bit young but the age gap between both of you is small so that is good.

Did you have an actual wedding ceremony and reception (with several guests) and pictures of it all? If you did, then that is also very good.

Hopefully you did not get married the first time you met each other in person.

If you visited each other at least once before marrying - then you should be fine. CIC tends to get suspicious if people get married during their first visit/trip together.

How many times did you actually meet in person, before you got married? If you had an entirely online relationship and got married during your first actual meeting in person, that could be seen as a red flag.

Also you will have to explain why none of his family or friends were present at the wedding. If it was in another country, this could be a valid explanation. You could also indicate you plan to do a Canadian wedding for his family, once you go to Canada.

A year and a half is a long enough time to be in a relationship, and you seem to have lots of communication proofs which is good. Is there any reason you're waiting all these months after marriage, to actual submit your PR application?

Of course in the end it often comes down to the personality of the visa officer reviewing your file, and his/her own views on online relationships.

Also, I would caution you to avoid saying anything in your questionnaire about 'wanting a better life because Romania is a poor country.' That might cast doubt about the genuine-ness of your relationship and your primary purpose.

You will need to apply for a temporary resident visa to visit your husband in Canada. But even if your application is rejected, that can actually work in your favour as it shows that you have made the effort. If it is turned down, I would suggest that your Canadian husband to visit you again, as the more time spent together in person, the stronger your sponsorship application will be.

Well we saw eachother last winter (for the first time in person) and we stayed together for 3 months , this means we also lived together in an apartment (for ourselves), we went on trips together, he met a lot of my friends and family.
3 months ago he came back to Romania and we married! we didn't have a religious ceremony because my mother died in less than a year ago and i didn't want to do the religious celebration so fast. I do intend to do it in Canada with his family! After the official ceremony ,we did have a little reception (i have pictures) , i hope that counts.

I didn't apply for a visitor visa before marrying, he came to Romania (twice). I will apply for it though for next summer.

Thank you so much for your answers, i'm definitely more stress-free now!

I think you will be ok. You lived together for a few months before getting married, and had an official ceremony with reception and with a few guests (and you have pictures). That is all good.
