Final help before landing please ....???

Hi dear friends , finally Iam landing Calgary on 11 sep but still haven't made the bank draft coz of confusion , would anybody mind suggesting me how do i carry the proof of fund for family of 3 as rule says u can't carry more than 10 k plz kindly help me for that. Also do I need to fill up the forms for the goods to carry , Iam carrying just the personal clothes . Thanks so much in advance

There is no limit on the amount you can carry.......just declare it on the customs form.......that's all.
If they ask, just say its the "settlement funds for immigrating" to any customs officials.

I agree, its important to mention ( or rather CHECK the box which says that you are carrying over 10K).
At the exit, the custom official looked at my form and asked ' oh you are carrying more than 10K, why ?' my reply was ' a new immigrant, these are my settlement funds' . he smiled and let me pass.

There actually is a anti-money laundering law to prevent this. the maximum cash you can carry is different for some countries, but most countries do enforce this.

Canada is more lax in this and has no limit on how much cash you can bring in as long as you declare anything above CAN$10,000: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5052-eng.html
