Hi @canpr123 just saw this post of yours. Have you gotten any refund? Looks like you should have received a 50% refund by July 1:Should I expect some refund from IRCC as they did not meet oath invite timelines?
I am waiting for 9+ months since I passed by citizenship test for an oath invite. Looks like some good news after all if I get some $$ back
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/service-fee-act-remissions-policy-2021.html
The above website says:
Right of Citizenship
The Right of Citizenship service standard is a maximum of 4 months. The first invitation to attend a citizenship ceremony must be sent to the applicant within 4 months of the date of their positive grant decision.
The remission will be
- 25% of the fee for less than 4 months past the service standard, and
- 50% of the fee, if for more than 4 months past the service standard
I feel bad for you guys. I would recommend to send an email to your local office especially the oath ceremony department. For scarborough "<IRCC.DNSCRCitizenshipCeremony-CeremonieCitoyenneteSCRRN.IRCC@cic.gc.ca>" find your local office email id and send a polite request letter if they can accommodate you in the next couple of weeks.I am yet another applicant back from Feb 2020
