Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding permanent parent sponsorship:

Currently we( me n my wife) are living here in Canada and I want to sponsor my parents ( mom n dad) in 2018. Total of 4 members

YEAR- -CANADA Family Size- -Total Family Size
2015- -2 - 4
2016- -3 - 5 (-If we plan 1 kid )
2017- -3 - 5
2018- -4 - 6 (- In case of 2nd Kid )

With the above scenario If I am planning to apply for my parents in 2018. So I have to show income for 2015, 2016 and 2017 .
My question is :
Do I have to meet a LICO + 30 % in 2015 for 2( me and wife) family members or 4 ( us and parents) or as per future projections 5 or 6 ( including kids).
same for 2016 if we have a kid by that time then I have to meet for 3 members or 5 members or if I am applying in 2018 I have to meet for 6 members because may be by that time we will have 1 more kid?

I appreciate if anyone can provide some information regarding that.

Thanks,

RS

Your family size will be determined by the number of people on the day you apply. If it is 6 in 2018 then regardless of what it was in any of the previous year's you will need to meet the income for 6 people in each year.

If you want to apply in 2018 - you need to meet LICO for 6 people in 2014, 2015, and 2016 (not 2015, 2016 and 2017). You must also continue to meet LICO for 6 people until your parents' application is approved.

Thank you guys for the information.
So I Got it.

Family size will be the size on the date of applications : In my case 5 or 6
and years you have to consider 2014,2015 and 2016 if applying in 2018 because for the year 2017 will not get your tax receipt from CRA in January of 2018, because normally we file our taxes in Feb and by the end of March we will get our receipt.

Thanks a lot everyone.

Hello

For example i have supervisa for my mother and i have supervisa for my inlaws. When applying for permanent residency for either my mom or inlaws
Will i need to add my mother or inlaws on supervisa to family size for calculating income
If you have sponsered for supervisa does that sponshership counts towards adding them as family member when applying for permanent residency for your parents?
