Express Entry PGWP, current employer offered LMIA

Hello all,

I am trying to understand if I qualify for the 50 CRS points, this is my situation:

- PGWP
- 2 years working for the same employer
- My current employer just got a LMIA using me in the application and gave me a job offer letter.

Now, the company lawyer is asking me to get a new CLOSED work permit then apply for Express Entry. However, I just submitted my express entry profile and got the 50 points for the job offer. Did I make a mistake? I keep reading in this forum that PGWP cannot get points for arranged employment, however the requirements page says:

The job offer also must be made :

• by an employer with a new positive LMIA that approves the offer and names you and your position OR

I believe my situation meets that criteria. Am I correct?

If they applied for LMIA and it's approved and you have the job offer, that part is okay. But you need to check if the work experience of one year is counted from the PGWP itself or after this offer time. You should contact a immigration consultant and check this.
