Hey team, I had received thw COPRs for me and my wife, after the birth of baby, added her to the application. After submitting all her documents, got the PPR, submitted passports at VFS New Delhi.

CIC account says 'Application Approved, but haven't received the passports back even after 7 weeks, is that normal?

Thanks in advance.

Did you inform the VO about the pregnancy before visa was issued? If you did not then you have to do it ASAP. Since your visa is expiring in February, you have no other option (considering the time crunch you are in) but to use the COPR and complete landing in Canada before it expires. Everybody in the family has to complete landing before the expiration of their COPR. You can use the current COPR for landing without going through anything else (no new medical/application etc) GIVEN that your VO is aware of the pregnancy and allows you to complete landing. If your VO isn't aware, then you and your wife might be refused entry in Canada because you did not disclose changing family situation to the VO (which you are required to do before landing).

Also, if you are concerned about healthcare, then you can complete landing within the expiration of the COPR and then go back to Britain.
I know this was years ago but the info provided here is actually incorrect - you are not obligated to inform the VO about pregnancy before the issuance of your visa. You are required to inform them of changes in your family composition/circumstance e.g. birth, death, divorce, adoption. One way of looking at it (apart of course from simply reading IRCC guidelines) is that not all pregnancies are carried to term so VOs.

Have you tried to e-mail the VO? 7 weeks sounds like a pretty long time for the return of passports.

Thanks Supercanadian,

I sensed it was taking longer than usual and I thought it could have something to do with the non - payment of document replacement fees (there were no steps in the email from CIC).

I wrote to NDVO on Jan 24. All that was done was they opened my EE profile, marked the old Countefoil documents as invalid and issued fresh and valid Counterfoil document (on 29 Jan).

I called CIC Canada yesterday and asked if the non payment of document replacement fees could be the reason...the rep after looking into my account said that since my application was already 'approved' and the visas affixed on Jan 31, she didn't think the non-payment of the document replacement was causing the delay.

Meanwhile the NDVO hasn't replied to my email yet.

Not sure what to do, please advise.

Other than the usual annoying administrative delays, I don't see any problem here. Also, you appear to have done everything you needed to do. If you can afford to wait and do not have any urgent issue that would make you want to move ASAP, I'll suggest you give it another week or two and then send a case-specific enquiry.

Did your wife do the x-ray during the medicals.
I understand that if one is pregnant you cannot do the x-ray so your application will be put on hold.
Is that correct?

We're in a similar situation right now.
