You can try entering two months early if you wish (I wouldn't recommend coming any earlier) - however you cannot start working until your classes begin full time in January. If you decide to come early, make sure you have enough money to support yourself without working before school starts. At the border, you may be asked to provide proof that you have the additional funds needed to live in Canada without working.
