hi, everyone,

Is there any one ever been in the same situation?

I sent extension of stay as a visitor application last month, before 1 month of my daddy's 6 months stay expire, and i got a confirmation note that CIC received my request.

They are going to Alaska Cruise ship this month, but we still not received the extension permit as the processing time now is very slow, my question is :

Its a Vancouver harbour ship , but one day in alaska US , I think they need to go through a US custom, but when they are coming back to Vancouver, will the Canadian custom reject my dad coming back to Canada because of its already without 6 months stay?

Can i print out the confirmation of CIC for them to show to the custom officer? or Is there any one have same expericed before?

Thank you.

Where is your father from? Is he visa exempt or non-visa exempt?

I don't think CBSA will refuse entry to your father. However it's certainly possible they may only give him a limited duration visit since he's already been in Canada for six months. Note that his extension will be effectively canceled as soon as he leaves Canada.

He is from China, he has 10 years multiple entry visa, and sent out the extension request last month, we got confirmation CIC received the request. But still no results, and the cruise trip can not be cancelled or exchanged, so I don't know how to do now.
