Hello all

looking for some info.

I'm a Canadian citizen and I'm currently in the process of sponsoring my wife for PR and our app is underway at the overseas VO office. We chose not to include her kids from a previous relationship at this time in the app and declared them as non-accompanying dependants as we wish for them to finish pre-school. They are 3 and 6 years old.

Once my wifes sponsorship and PR is completed, how would we go about sponsoring the kids to move to Canada and how soon would we be able to?

Your wife can apply to sponsor them as soon as she officially becomes a PR (i.e. after her PR visa is approved and she has landed in Canada and become a permanent resident). As a PR, she must be living in Canada when she applies to sponsor them and must continue living in Canada while the sponsorship application is being process. (Taking a short 2-3 week trip outside of Canada is OK - anything longer could result in the application being refused due to non-residency.) Application here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp

Hi Scylla! I just got my PR Visa this year and I am in the same situation like Heykenguy's wife, i have an 8 yr old son in the Phils and we didnt include him in my application, now I am wondering if I am eligible to sponsor my son if there is a sponsorship bar according to cic? Thanks for your help.

Depends what you mean by "didn't include him". Did you mention him in the application as a non-accompanying dependent and did he complete the medical? Or did you fail to mention him completely?

Note also that the kids will need permission of the biological father to sponsor them for PR and move to Canada, unless your wife has full legal custody through the courts.
