I am looking for some advice. I sponsored my husband and he has been in Canada since December. Unfortunately I have been subjuected to so much emotional abuse.
He has stolen from me and now left to go to his friends house. What do I do?
Do I report him for all the abuse I am taking right now?

Divorce him. That is your best option. You can report him for theft if he has stolen from you especially if it is a large amount. Think that would be much easier to prosecute but you have to assess your situation and what proof you have in terms of abuse and theft. If you are in danger or need support contact your local women's domestic violence shelter.

Thank you. I feel I am not in any danger. Just mentally I get the abuse every single day. He is in a different province right now. At least I think. I mean I have been seeking help for the emotional and metal part. I just need to know if I am supposed to do anything on my end.

As for divorce yes. I will have to deal with that in his country.

And the stealing. Well I don't have much proof other than he took it

I would speak with a family lawyer. This is really a family law situation - not an immigration situation. A family lawyer will be able to guide you on how to best carry out the divorce to protect yourself and your assets.

You should be able to divorce him in Canada provided you have lived here the last year.

Unfortunately you will remain financially responsible for him until three years have passed since he landed and became a PR. This means that if he goes on social assistance during this time, you will have to repay this money. Hopefully it won't come to that and he won't resort to taking social assistance payments.

Good luck.
