I don't think I was risking because as sohrab said, as long as you filed your tax return for the year before, it's ok to be ouside Canada and it will not affect the process , and another thing that I already met the residency obligation of being physically present in Canada for 730 days (2 years) in every 5-year period , so that should not be a problem.

But Sohrab at first didn't realize that the question was about a PR and what he said was about a citizen, then he corrected his answer.
In the guide it is clearly stated that a PR should be residing in Canada during the sponsorship process and physically residing 2 years out of 5 is totally another issue for maintaining your own PR status. So I still believe you got lucky as a PR for living 5.5 months out of Canada during your sponsorship process!

unfortunately they dont, even on the website it says we do not confirm receipt of documents, hey as long as it got there you should be fine

Hello everyone, hello vivi and Sohrab jaan, I hope everyone is doing good and hearing good news from Syria.

For whomever who put the document together, you have done a very great job.
I was in Iran for 2.5 months with my dear wife, it was difficult to go away for such a long time, but my wife was going nutz for waiting so much, so....

Today I saw a friend who is originally from Afghanistan and his wife lives in Iran. He sponsored his wife and her application was processed in Syria, they did this trough an Iranian lawyer in Vancouver.
Surprisingly for him and the lawyer, it took only 6 months in Syria until she got her Visa.

Anyhow, I am very hopeful that ours is close, cause this is taking just too long.
