Hi guys. My LMO application was submitted on April 17 in Alberta. I was told that it would take approximately 8 weeks (4-week mandatory advertisement and 4-week processing). So if it is true, i hope i will hear something this week. it will be the 8th week this Thursday.
Hi, Leaving 4 weeks of advertising, it would take at least 8 weeks to process LMO. I would recommend you prepare for 12-16 weeks and you will not go wrong. Sorry for the above timelines, but this is how the current LMO processing time stand. Could you share your NOC?

Hi Guys!

Okay, so we received the LMO decision last week via WebService (took 8 weeks). The LMO was rejected due to a number of things....

-Advertising had expired. They want you to keep it up to date and active even while waiting for the LMO decision.
-Company did not offer any benefits. This is a must.
-Wage was too low for the specified occupation. ($13.50/hr). Should have been $14.07, according to government.
-Company did not have contracts with the clients (it is a housecleaning company) and therefore could not technically guarantee pay to employees, in the eyes of the government.

I believe my next option is exploring the possibility of a study visa! They have just changed the rules in Canada on June 1st that any student with a study permit going to school full-time can legally work a part-time job up to 20hrs a week without a work permit. I've heard that this is, by far, the easiest route, so wish me luck!

Thank you everyone for your responses :D

Hi!

I don't know about Alberta but I am from Ontario and I (the employer) applied for LMO under the LIC program on May 30th via fax. They took the payment out from my credit card on June 3rd. Then I received a letter from Service Canada on June 9th stating that they received my application with the payment receipt attached. I got a call the next day, June 10th from them, confirming some info and the officer said if nothing has changed, then he will proceed with processing the LMO but will take about 3 days. I got the hard copy of the positive LMO yesterday, June 13th. A total of 14 days processing!

Hey,
Has anyone used the Web Service for LMO in Alberta?

Back story is, my LMO renewal (following 2 years in Canada) was refused due to too many Canadian applicants- they advised us to repost the job. The posting is just about to end and we have only received 5 applicants (compared to 70+ on the first posting)

We are just about to submit the LMO and I am wondering what to expect in terms of timeline. I am NOC code 1223 and we are using the web service.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!
Just a question.

If you say you applied for LMO, is your wage is higher than requested according to the new rules?
I take it you are a low-skill too.

Newfoundland and Labrador $ 20.19
Prince Edward Island $ 17.26
Nova Scotia $ 18.00
New Brunswick $ 17.79
Quebec $ 20.00
Ontario $ 21.00
Manitoba $ 19.00
Saskatchewan $ 21.63
Alberta $ 24.23
British Columbia $ 21.79
Yukon $ 27.93
Northwest Territories $ 32.53
Nunavut $ 29.96

Im just wondering if Canada stopped issuing any LMOs where salary lower than the average stated rate per Province? Or do we still have a chance?

They asked my boss new documents and to post advertisement again so I don't think they would ask those kind of stuff if they were not to process application. Plus where I live the unemployment rate is lower than 6%.

I have just reapplied for my LMO following an initial rejection.
I Submitted the application by post 10 days ago (7th July) and today received notification of receipt.
Seems like a pretty speedy one in comparison to some of the others in this thread- maybe they are getting through the backlog.

Will update when LMO decision is given.

I am little bit confused - what with old LMO applications, submitted before june changes? are they still in process?
