I wonder do they return the package be mail to the sponsor? Like pictures etc.... doesn`t matter, just curious, I heard some people get it all back in the mail.

correct, i *think* we just have to bite our nails and wait for the papers to arrive by snail mail. i have yet to see reports of people getting any notification by email once status changes to DM.

so i signed on to ECAS this morning just to double check it still says decision made. even though i took a picture of it yesterday, i wanted to make sure i wasn't dreaming. Still says decision made. wooooooo!!!!!

I'm getting ready to send out our application by tomorrow morning! We are going through Ottawa just wanted to see if anyone sent through a courier or if they sent by Canadian Post? Which is better?
Also, wanted to confirm that this is the correct mailing address, and that I don't have to also send it to Ottawa. We are applying out land.

I used a prepaid envelope from canada post that had tracking. correct, the entire package gets sent to mississauga first for sponsorship eligiblity, and they will forward it to the visa office in ottawa. if the address is the one specified in the application instructions/checklist, you will be fine.

Thank you so much for the answer! I have a valid multi entry visa to Canada until November 2014 + study permit the same valid until Nov 2014.
I checked ECAS last night and it was no change.....this morning at 5 a.m. I see "DM" without any "in process"!!!!! wow))) I will keep updated how long it will take for a Ukrainian to receive a passport back with a COPR.

Can I ask this question:
1. If the study permit will expire during the process of application, do we need to provide a new temporary document to show status?
2. If not, Is it legal to stay in Canada?
3. Do we need to notify cic the expiration data of study permit?

Thanks! It was really easy for him. He flew into Terminal 1, and it took about 5 minutes total (including the wait in line). He landed at 9PM so he sadly just missed the Kiosk where he could get his SIN, but we are going to go to Service Canada and do that later. They asked him: if he was the principal applicant (he said yes but they said no, actually, you're the person being sponsored lol), where/how we met, if I was picking him up, how long we have been together, what he did for a living and what I did, and then just chatted for a bit. The lady was really nice and then said welcome to Canada!

yep... that's how quickly applications are currently being processed!

from what i understand, the COPR gets mailed to the applicant by regular mail (no signature needed), and it's a brown envelope from immigration.

It comes by registered mail. You have to sign it

I would send another email if you don't receive the COPR within a week. I changed the address for my American husband and it updated on ECAS within 2 weeks, and his COPR went to the updated address. As yours is not updated, I would think it would go to the old address.. Send an 'urgent' email about it, and hopefully they will respond quickly.

It showed my correct address on my ecas but they sent my COPR to my old address where I moved out 12 months earlier :

Guys, I have a question. I just sent my passport (ppr) and hopefully get it back soon. i will be able to "land" August 23, and on september 13th me and my husband are going for vacation to Mexico. I used to have study permit and visa but now I assume this will be cancelled. I do not have PR card yet and it takes 2-3 months to get it in the mail......without PR card I can`t come back to Canada (we fly). I want to get Permanent resident Travel Document.
Should I apply for that through my country of Ukraine? I`m not going there at all..... My gosh how long will that take? I feel like I`m in the corner, I need to come back to Canada but how.......

Why don't you land after your vacation? Just enter Canada with your current visa and tell the border officer you want to land as a PR later because you booked a vacation

I received my COPR together with all of our pictures, greeting cards and payment receipts from our landlord

GOT MY COPR IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!!!!!! GOING TO DRIVE TO THE BORDER TOMORROW, AHHHHH!!!! YAYYYY!!!
