That`s because the call centre can only access information from Mississauga. Once an application is sent outside Canada (even though Ottawa is in Canada technically for CIC purposes it`s not) the call centre cannot help.

So doe any of you know how long it would take? approx? Our ECAS changed last Saturday to Decision Made.

I`m sorry, I have no idea. You could email Ottawa and ask but I really can`t say how long it would take.

I think I've seen 1 week to half a month until the actual letter arrive and that's in North America. Not sure whether you are residing in Canada or not.

I`m sorry, I have no idea. You could email Ottawa and ask but I really can`t say how long it would take.

Yes we are both in Toronto..5 hrs from Ottawa!
Yet we had to mail the package!!

That`s an estimate based on cases processed for American applicants, where they don`t actually send in the physical copy of the passport which you have done. I don't want to quote you a timeline that will end up being much different than you`ll have to wait. Sorry.

The law says that normally a PR application must be processed "at a visa office outside Canada". The office in Ottawa is treated as if it were a foreign visa office. Thus, the CIC call centre cannot "see" the status of such applications. They can only see the status of the processing of applications in Canada (including temporary and permanent applications).

Today CIC requested my spouse's tax returns saying that it must be received by them TODAY. Is it a good sign? Why didn't they asked for it when they asked me for FBI clearance 3 months ago??

The deadline is today?? That's insane. Maybe they thought they asked for them earlier and are reminding you? I'm not sure why they'd ask for a deadline for the same day. If you can send them in today, do it, if not, I would send an email saying it's unreasonable to expect you to send in a NOA with one day notification!

The email was sent today morning. I scanned and sent them, but not sure they want original documents. It doesn't say in the email.
