A DM without any hint of an issue is always a positive decision. If there were an issue, you'd have been told so and given an opportunity to respond.

What this means is that the paperwork (COPR) is in the mail. All you need to do then is present yourself at a Canadian Port of Entry prior to its expiration, initial two places on the form (no undisclosed children or spouses and no undisclosed criminality) and sign the bottom. If you are importing goods you present them your B4/B4a forms. They do a bit of magic in the computer and stamp everything and voila! You are done. You keep one copy of the COPR, they send the other to Sydney NS where in a couple months they produce your PR card and mail it to your Canadian address.

Note that you won't NEED your PR card to get into Canada. CBSA is fine with just your passport and the COPR and airlines will let you fly without it because you are visa exempt. If you plan on transiting the border much, get a Nexus card. If you HAVE a Nexus card, stop into their office and update your records (I added my COPR first and when I got the PR card I updated it with that).
Thank you!!! TOTALLY doing my happy dance right now!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!! 8)

What is a CBSA and what is a Nexus card?

CBSA is the Canadian Border Security and a Nexus card is kind of like a "safe traveller" card which allows you quicker and usually easier access acriss the border. Dedicated lines at crossings and such. You can google it and find info on the CIC website.

Yup! He opened the letter and it's my COPR! It was dated April 28. Can someone please update the Ottawa spreadsheet to show the date of my COPR? I don't know whether you'd want to put the date on the letter (4/28) or the date it came in the mail (5/1). He's bringing it with him when he flies out to help me pack on 5/5, and my projected landing date is 5/17! Anyway I'm line 58 on the Ottawa spreadsheet.

Oh, also, the letter said that since I'm from a country that doesn't require a VISA (US), the COPR is the only document I'll receive . . . is this right? I was under the impression I'd get a card, (similar to a US Green Card (even though they are pink)).
Congrats! Send all that good mojo this way!!!! We applied in August and still nothing!!!!!!! Your going to have a busy few weeks! Keep us updated on the landing process please! :)

My sponsor was a PR at the time we sent the application. A month ago however, he became a canadian citizen. We are now wondering if we should forward a copy of the certificate. Can anyone please advise?

I assume they'd be able to tell but you could always fax a copy to the VO.

Hi folks,

I'm getting a little nervous as I haven't heard anything from Ottawa since I sent some documents that were missing over a month ago so I emailed Ottawa. Not sure what else I needed to do but it's been over the 34 days listed on the processing time and my VR is almost up and they said last time that they would extend when I heard from Ottawa. So I'm nervous.

Best I can suggest is that you email them. You haven't received an AOR? Do you have an application number yet?

You're talking about not hearing anything from Mississauga right? You are still waiting for sponsorship approval? Expect to wait 30 days after you sent the extra documents for any word.

I have, it was mid-March but I'm not worried too much yet but when my VR ends things might get sticky. I have to cross monthly for my prenatal visits.

From the Ottawa spreadsheet I noticed that it took most of the people less than 200 days to get PPR after the 1st stage approval. Mine has been 300 days now. I have broken the record!

Mine is also over 300 days and I just found out why: our file was transferred to Los Angeles without notifying us for further processing and they also want to do an interview. The only reason that I found this out is because I went to my MP after getting nowhere with CIC and my hired consultant. So if it's been an unreasonable amount of time, you might want to (a) call your MP (like I did last week) and (b) order your GCMS notes (like I did last night).

Interviews for conjugals are not so good, I think :s

Hi Michellestella,

When did you file your application?
