Does anyone know the email address for Ottawa? I just had my name changed on my passport and need to email a copy of the new bio page.... I haven't gotten anything by email from Ottawa, so if anyone could share the email address that would be great!!!

Yup! He opened the letter and it's my COPR! It was dated April 28. Can someone please update the Ottawa spreadsheet to show the date of my COPR? I don't know whether you'd want to put the date on the letter (4/28) or the date it came in the mail (5/1). He's bringing it with him when he flies out to help me pack on 5/5, and my projected landing date is 5/17! Anyway I'm line 58 on the Ottawa spreadsheet.

Oh, also, the letter said that since I'm from a country that doesn't require a VISA (US), the COPR is the only document I'll receive . . . is this right? I was under the impression I'd get a card, (similar to a US Green Card (even though they are pink)).

Congrats Saneth. I updated you in my spreadsheet, you're timeline is extra fast! Gives me hope And you'll get a PR card a month or so after you 'land' but your COPR is all you need to get into the country

So guys I have a question. Since I have hired a lawyer to follow my application. Would the COPR be mailed to my husband's address or the lawyer's address?

On the ecas with my UCI number it shows my husband's address and with the application number it shows the lawyer's address. I am so confused.

Rorosgurl, I'm not sure. When we first applied, my husband was living with me in the US. Then he got a job transfer and moved to Toronto, moved in with his mother (my mother in law) and updated his address with CIC. My address is still our US address in their system. Months go by. Every time I check eCAS it shows my US address. Then my husband moves to his own apartment and updates his address with CIC. On the day I got my COPR (today), I log in to check status and all of a sudden the address on eCAS has been changed to my MIL's address, and that's where the COPR was mailed. It's all good, because he has it and is bringing it to me next week.

Hiya, I hired an attorney and my COPR came to my American mailing address. I had contacted CIC before-hand asking them to send it to my address in the USA instead of the lawyer. You might want to email CIC and do the same thing to be safe. Hope that helps!!

You are updated. Congrats!!!! As for the card, you will get a PR card (Permanent Resident card) but it will take about 8 weeks to arrive. That is why you had to send pictures in with your application, they will use those pictures to put on your card.

So I sent CIC an email yesterday asking if there is any status update and a friendly, from the heart letter explaining we have been waiting patiently, we are two big burly dorky guys who are in love and responded to their request for further documentation over 60 days ago. This morning I looked at ECAS as I have for the past 8 1/2 months and it says DECISION MADE!! WOOT!!!!

I guess everyone kind of does this, but it said they started processing my file on 4/29 and decision made now. Hoping thats a normal processing time since they had already asked for some other documents. There was no PPR and just straight to Decision Made. I had sent in copies of every page of my passport that had info on it with the application.

OMG totally awesome.. lol beside myself right now and can't believe it finally happened. Just hoping it's a good news decision. lol

I had to supply them with Jason's payslips and a letter from his employer. He was unemployed and on UI when we applied so i guess they wanted to make sure he was in better shape financially. I knwo there is no financial requirement but probably want to make sure the sponsor is making an effort.

I agree! Don't feel like doing a dang thing at work today either.. lol

If all goes well, will land mid to late June. We are gonna live in Halifax, NS for a couple years then see what we wanna do after that.

Hope the CoPR comes soon and it's good news. Does the application processing time to decision made seem normal?

Congratulations!

A DM without any hint of an issue is always a positive decision. If there were an issue, you'd have been told so and given an opportunity to respond.

What this means is that the paperwork (COPR) is in the mail. All you need to do then is present yourself at a Canadian Port of Entry prior to its expiration, initial two places on the form (no undisclosed children or spouses and no undisclosed criminality) and sign the bottom. If you are importing goods you present them your B4/B4a forms. They do a bit of magic in the computer and stamp everything and voila! You are done. You keep one copy of the COPR, they send the other to Sydney NS where in a couple months they produce your PR card and mail it to your Canadian address.

Note that you won't NEED your PR card to get into Canada. CBSA is fine with just your passport and the COPR and airlines will let you fly without it because you are visa exempt. If you plan on transiting the border much, get a Nexus card. If you HAVE a Nexus card, stop into their office and update your records (I added my COPR first and when I got the PR card I updated it with that).
