So far the average number of days between "Application received" and AOR is 36 days for October applicants, and the average between AOR and IP is 22 days. That is reasonably comparable to the averages before C6. So far there is no data to support the theory that processing time will double to 12 months as a result of C6.
The number of days is based on those who already received AOR and IP, and many people still haven’t got IP yet, until then , this 22-day average will just keep growing.

HAPPY New Year!!!
  • I agree with "uncomfortable"... a number of post-October 11 applicants got test invite within 3 months of AOR. It's very obvious on the sheet, so I'm not sure why some of you are saying it's not the case.
  • Remember some folks who had friends at CIC telling them, back in March, April, May 2017 that C6 would not pass; or the bill is dead; or C6 would not implemented until 2018.... some predicted that there will be 100,000 applicants on the first day....all those predictions were wrong.
  • I could hardly believe when the first applicants who got AORs started posting... within 3 weeks of sending their apps... it was quite shocking.
  • I'l stand by what CIC says until proven otherwise. That is, most routine applications should be done within 12 months and that they have added new staff to deal with the larger volume of apps. Therefore, it's highly feasible for some of us to take the oath within 5-6 months (based on location)
Those who got test invitation within weeks of IP are mostly from Calgary and Montreal, while there’s barely any news for people from GTA and Vancouver area, which probably have the highest density of new immigrants ... anyway, i will just keep my expectation realistic (since I live in GTA), but for those from Calgary and Montreal, I have no doubt they will get to the finishing line soon

Interesting!... according to several posts, Montreal is slow. We don't know what the real numbers are since this forum represents a fraction of the applicants.

Because many people realistically will. Some applicants will go through the test in January, many more in February and March. Realistically, many applicants will get their passports in 5-6 months.
I applied in March. 18 persons went through the process in 6 months. 28 persons in more than 6 months and 26 are still waiting of which some do not have test invite yet. Only 9 made it under 6 months.

This was before the wave of new applications.

So realistically if you look at the spreadsheet the minority makes it under 6 months and that was under the old rule.

My location is an hour north of Calgary and two hours south of Edmonton. I’m assuming that will put me in the Calgary testing zone rather than Edmonton?

My application is still on “application received” status even though it was sent Oct 12 and received Oct 16. Hoping for IP soon, but haven’t had good luck with CIC processing quickly for me yet. Good luck to everyone else still waiting.

NO....This is wrong
You should call IRCC 8am to 4am at your local time. I really can't understand why people like to ask common questions here rather than check IRCC website.

I think the question was when call center agents are least busy and I believe if you call early in the morning the possibility to talk to them without waiting is greater than if you call midfle of the day. It works for me.
