I just called Canadian High Commission Islamabad from Afghanistan and I asked the person attending my call about the STRIKE, he said they are not on Strike and if I want information about my visa I should fax or email them, ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Does he give you the print out of the response he receives back from ottawa or islamabad? My area MP normally mails me the response, and asks to follow up in 4-6 weeks again.

If He/she is just verbally telling you all this, then i would not trust them. It appears to me that he's just adding on stress for you.

Your timeline is very similar to mines, and inshallah you will hear something soon. Don't waste your time with them.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! First he tells me add 31 months to September 2012, and now April 2013? I am on the verge of losing my mind.

Don't worry too much about what the MP says to you.
My MP told me that he "spoke" to immigration, and they told him that my file will be OPENED in feb 2014.
My wife got PPR last month..
They either straight up lie, or are told lies by Ottawa.
Either way, just wait and pray, inshAllah you will hear something very soon.

Ur mp must be a weedhead..this is tpo ridiculous.id say dont trust everything he says..kehna tha r u living in the stone-ages that processing a single file will take u a lifetime..id suggest to stop going these mp's for help/guidance

dont worry about MPs, they're useless.

you should hear something from CIC soon as you're transfer was almost 12 months ago...perhaps they will contact you requesting more docs or even remed. just wait it out.

also, i spoke with a CIC Judge (met him last week at a family get-together. he too was useless and also fat ). just wait, good things will come!

When u send your application to CIC and your receive your first AOR, when you get approved as a sponsor and your second AOR is when they starting working on your file in Islamabad and they send you a letter with a new file number.

They are supposed to do two things that they do not do most of the time
1 - Issue 2nd AOR for applicant with UCI number (1st AOR is for sponsor)
2 - Update eCAS status to In Process

You can see a new UCI number assigned on re-med request when and if you receive one.

Medical office sends results to CHC within 48 hrs. Then it depends on CHC. I havent heard anything back since my wife's remed was done on 4th July.

no madam, i think it is useless to email them coz i never got a reply from them previously, i would just hope that I get my passport back with stamped visa inshallah, but the guy who told me was local staff and he said we are not on strike, am wondering was he talking about Local Staff only or was he talking about the whole staff lol

yes u r right...its useless. and even if they reply they will just say background checks r going on blah blah blah.
anyways I really hope whoever has sent their passport get them back with visa asap.
i think the wait after passport request is more frustrating then the rest of the process....atleast for me.

another question: if a passport request is issued, how many days to do we have before we need to give them the passport? i'm planning on going back to PAK end of october and we are away in Dubai for a few weeks in november.
