Canadian PR ...outside Canada

I got PR in April 2019 and PR card later..
Came back to US after PR....can I be outside Canada for next 3 years?

pls guide me so as i can make informed decisions

You need to return by April 2022. If you remain outside of Canada for this long, you will then need to remain in Canada for 2 straight years to make sure you can keep your PR status.

If you anticipate needing to do things like business travel or want to go on vacation you should be leaving some buffer time. We see many people who arrive at the 3 year mark and they have a family emergency or other issue and then they risk not meeting their RO.

Thanks guys...will be planning to enter by December 2021...to avoid issues due to emergency travels
