Canadian Immigrant going to American Immigrant

Hi,

I have been looking for straight answer regarding my situation. I need your opinion, options or suggestions.

I am currently a Canadian Immigrant, last 2 years ago I applied for my citizenship and went through the process up until the exam. They told me that I already passed my exam but they put my application on hold until Dec. of 2015 because my number of days here in Canada is not yet enough to get my citizenship. I wrote a letter to the Immigration Judge stating my situation that my company before sent me overseas to start up their branch, and during those times I am fully employed in a Canadian company. Another thing that makes my number of days even shorter is that my wife is an American, so obviously I frequently visit her(mostly weekends). Fast forward to my situation, she petitioned me for a US permanent resident thinking it will be just enough time for the Dec 2015 that the Canadian side to get me my citizenship. Now we just receive a letter from the US consulate that I will have my interview this coming Feb.

So my questions is,
Will I loose my status here in Canada?
What will happened to my Citizenship application?
Will I still be eligible to work here in Canada?

Any inputs is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you don't have 1095 physical residency days in Canada then you should expect your citizenship application to be refused.

You will continue to be a permanent resident of Canada as long as you meet the PR residency requirement of living in Canda for 2 out of every 5 rolling years.

We have been in Canada since 2007 and all of my family are already citizens. Even though I was out of the country for 6 months I am sure I have enough days here in Canada...

If you were out only 6 months in 4 years, then you should be fine. Note that working for a Canadian company abroad does NOT count towards residency days in Canada at all. So if all your absences include your work abroad and it is just 6 months, you are good.
