Can I take any certification test on a workpermit?

Hi, I have already completed my study in Canada and now I am on a postgraduate work permit I want to know can I take any certification IT test such as A+ or CCNA or do I need take any permission from GC.

Sure they are industry tests, not academic you don't need permission.

Sure you can, I'm on work permit and I took CCNA (though I was studying for it when I had Study permit)

you have to look at the conditions on your work permit. mine prohibited me from enrolling in any academic or vocational institutes.

Something to add on the subject. I am on a work permit and here is the response shared by Canada Immigration.

Course Less Than Six Months

Generally, if you want to study in Canada, you need a Study Permit.

As an exception, you can study in Canada without a study permit if:

the length of your course or program of study is six months or less; and
the course or program of study will be completed within the period for your stay authorized upon entry into Canada.

These short-term courses include self-improvement or general interest courses, such as painting or language courses. You are also allowed to take courses offered at colleges and universities, as long as the courses are not taken as part of a program.

Please note that you must apply for a study permit if the main reason for your visit or for your request to extend your stay in Canada is to study.

Can you tell me one more thing that is, can anybody undertake paid or non-paid internship or coop (even if its not part of program of study) on postgraduate work-permit in order to get some work experience before starting real job.

Hey man, I am in the same situation as you are. I am on co-op work permit and one my restrictions says "Unless Authorized, Prohibited from attending any educational institution, or taking any academic, professional, or Vocational training course". I want to do the Security + certification. I was wondering if that fine. Whether it would impact any of conditions.

I am still a student but current doing a co-op.
