Calgary Canada versus Major US cities

Many times I tried to believe that Canadian City Calgary can be compared with major US Job hubs or Metro Cities such as Boston, LA, NY etc but that is NOT the case. I couldn't find a top luxury apartment complex in whole Calgary and Edmonton to live!!! Archstone is most standard brand for Apartments but apartments in Calgary are way inferior than those in US!!! Check out the looks and ammenities offered by both. Calgary based apartments are way inferior.

Now for real, I don't know Alberta luxury standards neither Canada but Boston was my home for the last 12 years. I think mostly differences are due to how Boston, NY, etc., wealth is superior to Alberta. Anywhere in the world you mention these US cities and everyone knows what you are talking about it, not the same reaction if Calgary, Edmonton is mentioned.

Alberta business is mainly associated to oil business rich but unstable, while these US cities are associated to culture, stock trade, casinos etc., a very different type of wealth thus the difficulty in finding similar reference for luxuries between both.

A small sample of luxury and extravaganza, I had a job in NY and my customer brought two entire floors on a downtown skyscraper, among his requests the installation of a tower custom built salt aquarium who had to be delivered by helicopter.

I think this is the key difference between Capitalism and Socialism or Social Democracy (not to be confused with communism). In the first one, people who are rich are usually very rich and people who are poor are very poor. In the latter, the riches are more "equally" divided among all avoiding huge discrepancies between the rich and poor.
USA = Capitalist
Canada = Social Democrat (a more accepted term for a new wave of socialism)
