Hello all,

I had a question regarding SIN Number.
After we get our BOWP, how are we supposed to extend our SIN Number/Card expiry date? If we cannot, wouldn't that affect our employment?

Has anyone here faced any issues with their employers with a BOWP?

Please let us know and thanks a lot.
In short Yes, since you are on a temporary SIN (which begins with 9) which has an expiry date in tandem with your work permit expiry. you would need to re-new you SIN number by going to the nearest Service Canada

There shouldn't be any problem. You just walk in to Service Canada and they will extend your SIN till the expiry date of your BOWP. For them it's just a type of work permit.

Does anybody in this group know whether those issued BOWPs after August 2015 have ETAs automatically attached to them.

IRCC have been attaching ETAs in all study and work permits since that date (except for SP and WP extensions)….

I haven't been able to find out either way whether BOWPs are covered.

My PGWP will be expired on April, 2017, should I apply for a BOWP now? Got my AOR on Nov 19th.

When I tried the questionnaire on my cic, and choose work permit, it led me to an application page which I have to pay $255 for the application. Is that correct?

The benefits of applying BOWP 1 month before your WP expiration is having the implied status while waiting your PR. It will longer your wait time..

There is no way around it, you cannot get an extension unless you've got a PNP ITA, lmia or you are lmia exempt, welcome to the real world.

why would that be when it states clearly in the website a candidate in canada and have applied for PR and has valid work permit can apply for BOWP, there is no mention of having LMIA at all....do you have source for your information
