Hi All,
So I just sent my passport for immigration visa stamping, and should hopefully received in the next few days.
I plan to move to Canada within a couple of months. I am married with 2 kids (that have to go to high school).
I'd appreciate it if you guys can help me find a city with the best weather (warm place), preferably on the east coast.
I am in no rush to find a job, therefore that is not a priority for me. I do prefer city life (so at least being able to be within the city in a 20-30 min drive)
Rent budget for a 3-bedroom is about C$2500.
Thanks!

You do have to consider future employment because because based on your budget and desire to be in a warmer climate you are probably looking at something in South Western Ontario. If you never have to work again then there are plenty of small towns that are inexpensive but don’t have many job prospects. Assume you both need to work so depending on what type of job experience and education you both have certain areas would make more sense than others. Between covid and being a new immigrant I would plan for at least 6 months to find a job.

If you were approved for Manitoba, you move to Manitoba. Also when did you receive COPR? If after March 2020, you and your family can’t enter.

When I have visited Winnipeg is nice in the summer with lovely views by the river but absolutely brutally cold in the winter

If you are going to Manitoba, wait until June and bring your mosquitoes repellent.
Good thing mosquitoes don't get near me! never had a mosquito bite in my life!

Would add that given you applied for MPNP you’ll need to land in Manitoba first.
That's not a must from my understanding.

Just to clarify, I have applied for the Business stream through Manitoba, which I beleive means I can land where I want, but need to open a business within a year from landing or else I loose my deposit money (C$ 100,000).

If it doesn't appear though you will be heading to Manitoba your COPR can be cancelled. Once you have landed yes technically you can have free movement.
Im planning to stay 2 weeks in Toronto before I go to Winnipeg, would that be a problem?

if you arrive during COVID you would have to stay somewhere other than Manitoba on arrival anyway as Winnipeg is not a gateway airport

I don;t think I'm allowed to travel during the lockdown.
