Business people in Canada are already rasing a hue and cry over this cut. this seems to be more of a political decision rather than a decision based on business priorties. there's lot sof unemployment in North Canada while western Canada has recieved from recession.

this decision will probably be reverted later this year or next year since Canada's survival and her chances to continue growing have a major dependency on new arrivals and their becoming part of the TAX net. they spend major money on their health care system and pensions and guess where does that kind of money come from............TAXES----------More immigrants mean more taxes............

HI

I was just wondering if they cut down the visas by 20% would it affect those people who applied in 2010?
I got my 2nd AOR on 12th aug 2010.

Thank you

No, and of course no. This will impact new applicants.

The only fear is for them to start reducing issuing visas of current log and distribute it over longer years than initially planned.

Of course not. My earlier statement is for people in stages prior to handing over the passports.

In my opinion the cuts shall be done in various stages.

* First of all they have already reduced capacity to only 20,000 FSW1 immigrants. So less FSW1 people.
* The category for canadian experience class i.e. the one where students and work permit people can apply after 1 year stay in Canada is removed all togather. So complete removal of this category which may be one of the highest.
* They can have stricter checks on immigration.

So, if you have applied and you do not have any error/wrong information/false claims in your documents there is no need to worry.
