Applying for LMO in BC

Hi everyone,

I am on a 2 year co-op working visa.
I applied for BC PNP as a bookkeeper on september 2013 and got rejected because i don't have enough experience in Canada.
My visa expires in Sept 2014 and my Employer is willing to help me apply for LMO as a bookkeeper.
I have a Bachelor Degree in accounting but from outside Canada.
Does anyone have any suggestions on if I should apply for LMO or not?

FYI - you cannot apply for an LMO. Only your employer can apply for an LMO.

For BC PNP, you don't need experience in Canada, you need several years of experience in your job. So if you've been working as a bookkeeper for before moving to Canada, those years count. BC PNP is employer-driven though, so it should be a joint application between you and your employer.

An LMO is applied for by your employer. I don't know your status, but having a co-op visa suggests you're on a study permit, on a graduate level perhaps? If that's your case, then there's a site to help you with that:

After you graduate, you can get a post-graduate work permit...if you don't finish your graduate studies and just want to work, then ask your employer to apply for an LMO so you can apply for a work permit. A work permit issued through an LMO though will be a closed work permit and invalidates your study permit

Thank you for your reply. I am currently in an ESL school in a Business English program, that is how I got my co-op working visa. When they ask for several years of work experience, does that mean 2 years of experience is good enough for the BC PNP Program?
Also my boss is applying for me through LMO, I am wondering if anyone knows whether or not bookkeeping is a good area to apply to? I was told that it is no longer a demanded occupation and would result in a rejection?
