Hi guys, i will completing 22 months soon, and i compute my hours and my total regular hours is 3,872 and my total overtime is 735, do u guys think im eligible in 3900 hours with maximum of 390 hours?

And im just wondering too, its says MAX OF 390 hours? What is that means? My overtime now is more than 390 hours,

One more thing, i dont have any overtime on my previous employer but here on my 2nd employer i have lots of overtime w/c is that 735 hours, my concern is, is that ok if i dont have any overtime on my 1st employer?

2nd thing, my employer base the start of my work on my work permit approval, let say my work permit approve on may 1st 2012 and i receive it on may 3rd 2012, now my employer put the start Of my work on MAY 1st on the time sheet, is there any problem with that?

Please share some experience to those people apply in 22 months and please i need some advice, thanks and godbless

SenoritaBella what do u mean minimum of 24 months and cic doesnt count overtime? So what is this mean then?

What are the employment requirements?

You must have completed a certain length of authorized full-time employment within 4 years from the date you entered Canada to be eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Live-in Caregiver Program.

There are two options for determining whether you meet the employment requirements of the Program; you will be required to select one of the following two options on the Document Checklist (IMM 5282).

Having completed 24 months of authorized full-time employment as a live-in caregiver within four years from the date you entered Canada under the Live-in Caregiver Program,

OR

Having completed a total of 3,900 hours (within a minimum of 22 months which may include a maximum of 390 hours of overtime) of authorized full-time employment as a live-in caregiver within four years from the date you entered Canada under the Live-in Caregiver Program.

If i gonna wait for my 24 months i might as well apply for that option rather than apply for the 2nd option w/c is 3900 hours right? 24 months Doesnt need an hours, as long as youre working as a fulltime youre already eligible, right? And is not complicated as well. im just planning the hours because its less months and i have overtime, much better to use it, im working for long hours and days per week so i might as well grab the opportunity for being a very fulltime caregiver, heheh

Anyway im here in alberta, and our minimum hours per week here is 44 hours

You didn't say it was the live-in caregiver program, so I assumed you were applying as a temporary foreign worker, so disregard my post and follow what is on CIC's website. It seems you have the answers to your questions.

I think yes as long as you have proof. Employer should remit the taxes.

And im just wondering too, its says MAX OF 390 hours? What is that means? My overtime now is more than 390 hours,

Out of 3900 hours in 22 months you should have not more than 390 hours overtime. 3900 -390 = at least 3510 regular hours in 22months

So basically im not qualified for 22 months because i have more than 390 hours of overtime? Is that right?

You are qualified. You have more than 3900 hours with the addition of 390 hrs. to your regular work hours but you must have been working for 22 months before you submit your application.

Hmm,, question.. :)

1. What if I work only 1 year in the first employer then change employer after a year. is the first year counted in 3900 hours? or I should stay in one employer to complete the 3900 hours? thanks

Cumulative, all employers sum the hours but should be 22 months before you submit using option 2.

Hi guys my uncle spoke to one of the agenct in cic about the hours and my uncle ask as well about my concern, the agent said, it doenst matter if have more than 390 overtime, as long as u complete the 3900 hours with in 22 months ur fine, and he said tOo if there is need more hours to complete the 3900 hours, that is the time that i can include my overtime to complete it and i am only only allowed to include my overtime not more than 390 hours, So basically if we have lots of overtime only 390 overtime hours is the only allowed to use, but still we have to declare all of our hours and overtime hours Not only the 390 overtime hours, BUT ALL of the OVERTIME HOURS, because they nid it to verify it if our overtime was paid,i spoke too this morning to an immigration consultant, and he told me the same thing that cic agent told Us, Hays, such a relief :)

Hi huys,

I wonder does 3900 hours included holidays? I am qualified now but have problem with my second employer so I can't continue to work for them while I apply my PR. Right now I need to work on my paperwork for PR and next need to find another employer.

Hi. New on this forum and I'm so glad to find this when I was googleing to find answers to my questions. This forum is very very helpful and informative.
My situation is....my caregiver will be meeting his 3900 hours a week before his worker's permit expires on May 9. I was told by CIC that we dont need to extend his permit as long as he can submit the open permit and PR application before May 9.
Question... Does the 3900 hours include the holidays?
Thank you and more power
