Hi folks,
Does anyone know? V 1 (multiple), is it super visa or regular visitor visa?
I applied for super visa and they issued V1, can I email them again about this ?
or My parents need to tell immigration officer about longer stay when they land to Canada?
Any idea or experience??
What is the stamp for Super visa?
Please share your experience.
Thank You in advance

Hi,

V-1 is a TRV. It is not a super visa (PG-1).

V-1 will allow your parents to enter Canada/remain for a maximum of 6 months on each entry. If they wish to stay longer then they must apply to extend their visitor status

Cheers

I just call CIC and conform that it is super visa. He said me that with Regular visa you will get time frame on visa sticker. But if it is Multiple 10 years and V 1, is super visa.
But Bryanna is right too. He didnt conform for their continuous stay upto 2 years.

However calling again to conform again, because sometime different agent gives different answers.
Lets see if it changes or not. I will update here so anyone with such condition will benefited.

IRCC call centre agents get even the basics wrong at times.

A super visa sticker has 'PG-1'. This allows the visa holder to enter/remain in Canada for up to 2 years on initial entry i.e. without having to extend the visitor status.

A 10-years MEV (multiple-entry) V-1 is NOT a super visa, but a TRV

Can I argue with them ? I applied for Super visa and they issued Visitor, Can I email them ?
DO I have any option apart from accepting it ?

1. Do have a relook at the application which you submitted. Did you select the super visa option?

2. Did you submit all mandatory documents for a super visa application?

3. Do you meet LICO? And did you include evidence for this?

You can try emailing the visa office/send a CSE/order GCMS notes to understand why a TRV was issued.

It is, however, possible that the visa officer assessed the application/determined that a TRV was appropriate

What Bryanna said is correct. You can do all that to try and find an explanation. However once the TRV V-1 has been given, there is no way to change it.

If you still want the TRV PG-1 then you will have to reapply from scratch.

Your only option is to accept it. Just because you applied for a super visa doesn't mean that's what CIC will issue (what they issue is their decision and we have seen a number of examples of a regular visitor visa being issued instead of a super visa). You can certainly submit a brand new application for a super visa. Before you do that, I would get your application notes to see why the regular visitor visa was issued instead of the super. You'll need to overcome these reasons in the new application.

Thank you for the information, I called CIC, as I am their representative, he said that your parents have to mention how long they want to stay at the port of entry. Officer will allow that much stay. He again conform by looking at their file and said its super visa approved. I ended the call.

In a few min he called me back and told me that it is for sure super visa approved with initial two year stay then after I need to extend. Its in their file but then I asked why V1 stamp, he said due to lots of application for parents now they are changing to this procedure.

I told him to email me and here is the mail content:

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. I am pleased to follow up on your request:

Super visa
In order for you to be able to visit your Canadian or permanent resident child or grandchild in Canada, IRCC has introduced a parent and grandparent super visa. The super visa is a multiple entry visa, which can be valid for up to ten years and can allow eligible parents and grandparents to remain in Canada for a period of up to two years from their initial entry into the country.

I'm guessing you asked the IRCC call centre agent if your parents can extend their stay for up to 2 years on this visa. And, that's where this confusion has possibly arisen.

Your parents can extend their visitor status/stay for up to 2 years (even on a TRV). This may seem like a super visa but it is NOT a super visa.

I suggest that your parents do not come on a one-way ticket (typical of super visa travelers). But they must book return tickets

I know that I can extend the stay for visitor as My friend had the same thing.
I had the same confusion that is why I called IRCC to conform about this but he acknowledged me that you dont need to book return ticket, they can stay two years on initial entry.
To make it more clear, I will call again to clarify it properly.
Thanks for your concern

IRCC is one thing. You also need to check with your airline. Many won't let you board the airplane to Canada without a return ticket if all you hold is a regular TRV.
