Buffalo AOR 30JUL2009
File Transfer...
27April2010 to NY
Is the file transfer to other consulates and then subsequent Medical requests totally random?

My Buffalo AOR date is July 30 2009 and the next update was an email from Buffalo saying that my file was transfered to NY consulate on 27th April.2010. I see that we have folks with apps submitted before me with no updates whatso ever and then there are folks who have file transfers and medical requests with their apps submission dates after me.

If we need to track and set ourselves expectation for next steps like medical requests etc ...what should we do ?

Thanks

For me, actually the ball now is in my field , because Buffalo is waiting for my medical results which is not sent yet by the DMP because it takes them 2 weeks to send it to Ottawa, i do not know are they sending it via camels to take all of that time ! and again when they reach Ottawa, i will have to wait for another month for the results to be sent to Buffalo from Ottawa.

Really unnecessary and unjustified delays !
Does it really take a month for Ottawa to send the medical results to the local consulate?

Applications filed through NS --> Buffalo (Filed xferred to New York office)

Hi All,

I am writing in with a query of mine; just wanted to make an estimate with other processing times.

Below is my status update:

Country: Canada
Visa Office......: Buffalo
NOC: 0213
Appl sent: August 05th, 2009 (Nova Scotia - Centralized Intake Office)
Appl rcvd at NS: August 10th, 2009
Pre-Assessed..: Yes: 30th September, 2009
Buffalo rcvd full docs: 14th Jan, 2010
Acknowledgement from Buffalo: 11th March. 2010 (File # created)
File Transfer...: New York, New York Visa Office

My current status in e-cas shows: File received at visa office. Is there anyone around the same time line as me. I am currently on a work permit which expires in August, previously my employer got a LMO for 2 years but this time it was not approved by Service Canada. So the overall wait is making me more tensed.

Please update if there is anyone who is in the same timeline like me or could estimate a time duration at the New York processing office.

Thanks

That is what the nurse told me, and actually i called CIC just now before i answer your question, and the call center agent told me that she has no definit answer for that question because it is not related to them, but from what she knows, she said usually it takes one month for ottawa to enter the medical results on their system, and then Buffalo can have access on them.

I was under the impression that Ottawa sends the results physically to Buffalo, not electronically !

Anyway, we will have to face some unnecessary delays.

I have no idea how long exactly it is going to take to finalize your application, however, it wont be that long, within few weeks your case will change to "in Process" and you might get your medical request soon, if everything is fine with your documents and they do not require any more documents, your case might be finalized within few weeks from recieving your medical results by Buffalo.

The delay will be here again caused by the DMPs in Canada who take 2 weeks at least to send the results to Ottawa and one month at least for Ottawa to send the results to Buffalo.

Hi Pasi,

I told you, your medical results might be sent to Ottawa before mine even though i did my medicals a week a go.

I will call my DMP on thursday (which counts 2 weeks) to check whether they have sent it to Ottawa or not yet and to get the tracking number.

Wow! See, they need to create more positions to keep Canadians employed. So there will be a person to scan it, and another one to send them off. A month to transmit some medica records is crazy in this day and age when information moves within hours between departments. No wonder the number of applications is piling up.

Yes, that is completely right, and i hope that they do not take more than a month to send the results to Buffalo because i heard from some people that Ottawa takes from 4 to 6 weeks to do so. That would be awful !

I do not know why do they like number six so much in Canada , each goverment transaction takes six weeks to be done !

Your wait in Buffalo has been a long time. As you can see my timeline, I received my AOR from Buffalo in Feb this year and my file was transferred to NY on April 20. I received medical request on May 12 and I completed the medicals today. But one thing is for sure, once your file is moved to NY, it means they have started processing. You will be getting medicals from NY consulate only. Expect it soon.

Thanks you guys - professional 1 and Pasi for the updates.

Pasi - ur and mine application dates are quite close...i just wish it works out before my work permit expires.

So once the medical request comes in..one should assume it would take 45+ days for the Visa office to get the results..if i get it right?

Going by what people say here, yes it would take that much time. We cannot help much here except completing the medicals immediately after getting the request and sending the RPRF and medical receipts to your visa office. I hope Ottawa takes lesser time to assess our medical fitness and pass on the results on to consulate office.

I hope your comments about file transfer to NY is also true for Detroit because I am getting a little worried here. My FSW3 file was transferred to Detroit on April 7 and I haven't heard anything from them yet. In fact I have reason to believe that they haven't even done the innitial review yet. Mean while there are peolple who got transferred after me who have already received their Medical & RPRF request. I don't know what's going on in Detroit. Is it the new Buffalo with it's unpreditible trends in processing FSW files? Anyone else stuck in Detroit since being transferred in April 2010?
