Marriage is supposed to be a special thing, regardless of your religious beliefs, and is certainly not something to be taken lightly or used as a tool to get into another country!
IMO the best course of action is as Jimmy has suggested. Send a fax stating you believe they have made an error, and send as much further proof of your relationship to your brother as possible. Be sure to double check the exact requirements on your visa-office specific check list.
Has your brother been a permanent resident for at least 1 year (before the date of your application)?

LMO and TWP are 2 different things, for me for exmaple I got an LMO valid for 3 years, but my VISA and TWP have 18 months validity because of my passport expiry date. So when my TWP expires, I will re-apply only for a VISA and TWP with the same LMO.Cappuccino said:Hmm I am not the expert really on the TWP/LMO thing but as I understand it you need a fresh LMO in order to apply for a fresh TWP. The employer may have to advertise the job for a couple of weeks before HRDSC will grand a new positive LMO.
Can anybody else comment?

I think TWP is totally independent from the AOR/PER, they are parallel processes, you have to make sure you have new TWP before the old expires regardless of the status of you PR application.PNPvsFSW said:Thanks.
I think my case should be a TWP extension rather than a fresh one.
I remember I read from somewhere that after you receive AOR/PER, you should be able to get a TWP fairly quickly. But I need some confirmation. thanks
Nope. All we're heard from visa offices are "your papers are in transit", or a few ppl have been wrongly told that they need to send all their docs to them within 120 days (i.e. the old system not the new system).EnvioZA said:Question to wayne, Indira, amro, anil and others,
Did anyone receive any response from their respective VO?
June applicants should hear somehting since they received PERs long back?
Sorry to ask this since I am not so regular on forum these days.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear that i think you should email them and ask for explanation and try to apply again we had the same problem with one our friend in the arabic forum they also calculated 22 point in education instead of 25 and this make him so angry but he send them an inquiry and he will apply againzint said:guys.................. i told you before i had a bad feeling..i was a feeling that something bad is coming .. yes.... it was... i checked my email after 2 days ...
"your application is refused due to insufficient points"
i claimed 67 points in my assessment but they assigned me only 62. no points were awarded due to insufficient evidence to establish a relationship to a relative living in Canada.
i calimed that my spouse has an uncle living there for 30 yrs till now with all supporting documents .. but unfortunately visa officer refused to accept that .........
oh God help me... i am stuck in the middle of nowhere ... nothing was discussed about refund in email ... although my BD was encashed in September..
i dont know why 2 similar cases about adaptability of "having relative in Canada" refuses back to back ...
now i lost hope :-[ :-X :'(
Already on the ball about this!Cappuccino said:Queencougar,
Obviously you are hoping it doesn't come to this (and so am I!) - but have you found out the likelyhood your OH will be able to renew LMO/TWP in July and what's involved? May be worth starting to prepare for that in case things drag out longer than July before your case is finalised.
Wayne.
Hi, hmm good question. This is just something I was told somewhere on this forum I think, but not 100% sure? Most other things to do with family (sponsorship etc) require the family member to have been resident in Canada for at least 1 year.Cam1234 said:Hi Wayne:
Interesting point, being a permanent resident for at least 1 year... I checked both the OP6 and general guidelines and could not find anything... Could you please let me know where you read this, thanks.
@ Snipper, I would follow what CanadaJimmy has suggested, it is simple, quick, and we know he got immediate results with his own case... Best of luck.
