Dear Mayank

As far as I know in 2006 they were not insisting for Ielts, this is in recent years as they are facing communication problem specially with chinese immigrants.

now ur ques,t, if u give Ielts they will give u points according to new method if there is any, as far as i know u should have minimum 5. bands in each module which will be moderate score, again it depends on VO to decide and take decision on ur applciation, always try for good score it will be safe. hope it is clear

Cheers

dont worry if ur bank statement showing more than what u required to show as POF, that will not be an issue. yes in case if u have short in funds they u will be in trouble.

dont worry as long as u have more then POf.

FMA

Thank you fma, another thing, in the fee payment form, I have reviewed the photocopies after I have sent my application, I'm so not very detailed as I was not able to notice that I wasn't able to put the number of persons in the portion "each family member age 22 or older", however I have put the correct amount, $550 and the total amount which is $1,100. I am applying with my husband and we do not have children yet. I just hope they will consider it and not return my complete application because of that.

After sending almost 1 Kg of documents to CIO, i am eager to hear positive words from CIO..
BTW, dear fma, will we get AOR from CIO in email or paper mail or both?

Hi Indira

Its sad .... about the score. As fma is correctly guessing there are not many candidates for your NOC. I too sincerely feel that Prabhakaran must try for the maximum. And he will do it.

The other part is your PP. If I correctly remember... you mentioned that PP & B'certificate are showing different place of birth. Now you have to apply for a fresh B'certificate and then I guess for a PP. My suggestion is instead of going for such a long 'chakkar,....why don't you change the place of birth (i.e. Chennai) itself in the new/ fresh Birth Certificate. That will save your effort for applying for a fresh PP. Try if possible..... I hope Prabs PP is fine... required for IELTS.

Don't worry... everything will come into order.... at the right time ;D 8)

Take care, Cheers

Hello Anil,

I wish i could change that! That's the last possible thing on earth to change your place of birth in ur birth certificate, at least in India. My birth was originally registered in Salem, Tamilnadu, but my permanent address and the first address in passport is Thottipalayam, Tamilnadu. What happened is while applying for my fresh passport, they accepted 10th mark sheet for my date of birth proof and so they never looked at my birth certificate. So, because they dont know my place of birth, they assumed my permanent address to be my place of birth and had it registered. As soon as i got the passport, i had to go to UK, yes, i just had 15 days to get the UK visa stamped and i left. I noticed the mistake and inquired with the local police station. They said, since Thottipalayam is a part of Salem jurisdiction, we dont have to worry and to change the place of birth is a very long process. Until now i dint have a problem with that wrong place of birth. But now, Thottipalayam comes under a different district and so the former doesn't hold good. Birth certificate is mandatory to submit for PR application now and i cant submit contradicting papers. I can say i was born in Thottipalayam, but it will not be there in their records. The birth has to be registered within one year after birth and if not, we will have to go to the court and accept the punishment/penalty. You know how long a case will take for judgment in India ;)..

Long story short, i have to do some GROUND WORK and get things done in 15 days, and wait for Prab's next IELTS results :)

Hopefully we will make it into the 1000 cap for 2151.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi Anil,

Clarity on transcripts once again for you :), a reply to the PM.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you, your spouse or common-law partner:
•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
Notarized copy of diploma/ certificates along with transcripts, if possible in institute sealed envelopes

•College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;
Again notarized photocopies of the degrees/diplomas/certificates, if possible in college/university sealed envelopes

•Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.
You will have to convince the university guys to do this, or just follow the process that i mentioned below. Get clear photocopies and ask them to attest each page. It's a simple attestation and you will have to produce the originals for verification. Then you put them in a cover and seal the cover in front of them. Then ask for a university/department seal on the back side to ensure the cover is not tampered with. You are done

•Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)
This one is not a degree, as it is already covered in the above statements, but the professional qualifications/licensed, example - If someone claims he is an architect, he will obviously have to have a 5 years bachelors degree B Arch., but he will need an extra license and registration to practice as an architect in India(same may apply to other countries too), in case of a doctor, he will obviously have a 5 year MBBS degree, but must get a license/registration to practice medicine. In these cases, it is the registration certificate with the Council of Architecture or Indian Medical Council. If it is IT or other industry related, people may have some extra professional qualifications like certification in Oracle/SAP, CA kinda organizations which add value to their profiles. These documents/certificates must be photocopied and notarized and included in the application.

So, in case you are claiming points for your spouse's education as well, it is mandatory to get documents in a similar manner. Else, your application will risk a return :(

In the ND VO checklist, they have mentioned original transcripts in university sealed envelopes, yes, but this means any transcripts coming from the university are considered to be originals. Usually in some countries, the university people print out a new consolidated transcript for all years of study together and put them in a university envelope and seal it against the back of the envelope to ensure the cover is not tampered with. But in India, universities are reluctant to do the same and all they do is ask the students to photocopy their original transcripts and degrees and then they attest them against verifying the originals. Then they will put them in an envelope and seal it at the back as required. If this process is followed, the transcripts inside the sealed envelopes are as good as originals.

Original transcripts are never to be sent to the CIO/VO. You must send only the photocopies notarized/attested from the corresponding university inside the university sealed envelopes. This is common for both you and your spouse. You should send them out with the original CIO application if it is post 26 June 2010, as they have very clearly mentioned All the documents mentioned in the CIO checklist and VO checklist must be sent with the initial application to the CIO, else applications will be returned. In case they feel your application is too strong to be returned, you will be asked for the missing documents(very unlikely). It is unclear if we need to submit another set of documents to the VO again after the AOR as of now.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Dear Rae74

That column 10 in Sch 3 is asking for the amount in CAD that you have and can show in the form of cash (bank statement) or FDs (in Equiv local currency). It has to be nominally more or equal to the funds required (as per the number of your family members). You need not show your net worth... or the TOTAL amount that you have :)
Could you please tell me your VO or the place from where you are applying!!

Hope this info helped you. Cheers
Anil

Hi

Thanks anil for the clarification.

My VO is ND, busy collecting the docs which is a never ending process.

I got my BC today, but an issue, my name is Raecheal in all documents including passport but in my BC it shows as Raechel, an 'a' is missing, what to do the correction will take another 2 weeks, should I send this BC.

I am in a real fix. No point in sending the application without the BC?????????????????

Hi

I have read number of people getting confused on transcript. I would try to help, based on my understanding of the matter:

In India

Transcript : It is a summary of your university degree (all years marks, subject, passing date etc) on one page, created by universities on request. You may get any number of original transcripts.

Markscard / Marks sheet: It is the document you have got when you have passed each year during your education. Only one copy is issued as original.

All of us have markscard or marksheet with us. None of us have got transcripts as default.

Now to our Immigration subject:

VO has asked for original transcript not the marksheet. I read at some places applicants have dispatched their marksheets or even degree as original which were never asked. The original transcripts are required in Universities sealed envelops.

Hello Raecheal,

Me too in the same boat. I suggest you not to send out the application without a convincing birth certificate. We have applications returning for the same reasons :(. I am waiting to correct my parents names in the BC too. They look slightly different form the names in my passport and other documents.

Also i need to change the place of birth in my passport as per my birth certificate.

Wish you luck :)

Have you completed IELTS?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
