Application in queue to be reviewed by visa officer

Hi, just wondering from other's experience how long this stage typically takes. 10 days a ago we got an email from CIC:

Dear XXXX:

This is regarding your application for permanent residence in Canada which is now in queue to be reviewed by a visa officer. Please note that you must submit original police certificates for you and any dependents for all countries where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18.

We have already sent all original police checks etc, and have sent a follow up email regarding it.

Does this mean the application is in its final stages? The status on CIC site, says -in process.
