Hi,
I received my PER email (stating a positive determination of eligibility to be processed instead of a positive final determination of eligibility for processing) on May 2, 2013. I am considering to make a request under the Privacy Act. I was wondering if it is too early to make this request? Once I made this request, will I be receiving updates on my application's processing? Or, is it just a one-time release of information at the time they receive my request?
Thanks!

Congratulations for the PER, MR and PPR!!!! CIC is on fire.

I really hope they will start getting onto the April and second third of 2012 applications as soon as possible. We should get our first PR's from 2012 applicants soon :D

If you live in Canada, GCMS notes are free, and you can order as many as you like. The only drawback is that you will have to wait for a month each time. Since you already got your file number, it's probably not a bad idea to order your notes now, just to see what Sydney has already done, but keep in mind your notes won't likely change much, if at all, for the next several months, until Ottawa has assigned an officer to evaluate your file.

Anyway, this would probably be a good information for a lot of members here, can you share when you submitted your RCMP screening certificates, and also your POF?

GeoCanadian got his MR about 8 days after he submitted his POF, and I got mine roughly 8 days as well. One of my friends submitted his POF, then about 7 to 8 days later he got medical request. I wonder if it's true for you as well. Also, can you tell us which department (or visa officer) sent you the POF and RCMP request emails? You can check it from the signature of these emails.

Is this necessary to provide total numbers of hours. I remember in my work experience it had hours per week and and how long I have worked (the duration when I have started and till to the date). Do you think this shouldn't be enough, If I remember correctly even in the check list thats how they wanted the work experience letter, job duties, starting period and hours/week, salary and other benefits. Am I right?

No, it's not. As you said, the checklist never specifies that you have to provide the total number of hours. I did it anyway, just in case they decided to play tricks on me, but you're right, it shouldn't matter :)

Thats right when we had submitted our documents who knows they would be so meticulous? On that time the only helping guide was for us the application guide and checklist. But letter our super genius officers became more demanding coz they found tons of application in their archive to be get accepted or rejected.

Hi Guys, I want to point out about a fact that will impact all of us and I 'm going to write this to the officers evaluating PhD category applicants but before I wanted to get you folks feedback. I realized that some of us did include a letter from their supervisor that the applicant is a full time research assistant and fortunately officers give the points to this letter counting it as a full time experience. But there are many of us (myself as well) who did not include this letter so they missed points for what they deserved. I BELIEVE IMMIGRATION CANADA SHOULD GIVE POINTS TO ALL Ph.D. APPLICANTS REGARDLESS for their full time research assistant ship without the need for letter submission. I wanted to see the feedback from you folks on this point. I believe that this is not fair while all PhD students basically are doing the full time research assistanships in Canadian universities but only those who submitted such a letter get the benefits. I myself have been research assistant for 4 years not only carrying my own PhD project but also coaching WISE students, summer students, providing research proposals for master students in our research group helping with science rendezvous and Shad Valley program every year but now I am refused to obtain my PR. I mean this is a huge contribution that we all have to the Society and we all should get points for this regardless in our PR applications.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I do like this, but even if you include the RA letter , they TRY to find something to reject it.

Hi,
This question is for those applicants who have received GCMS notes. Do your notes show the same NOC number that you filled in your application?
In my case though I filled NOC 4031, GCMS notes are showing NOC 9914000 just above the occupation. Do I need to take any action?

They took precisely 2 weeks to reply both the times. The employment letter request was from FA01772 and POF and RCMP request was from RK6165.

May I ask which department requested your documents and/or GeoCanadian's and what does that imply?

Hi,
Does any one know what is meant by "two years of PhD study", is it two academic years (4 terms), or two calender years (6 terms).
because I finished fall and winter terms of 2011 and 2012 without summer registration, this mean 4 terms of study.

FA01772 was the one who asked me for POF and PCC. I postulated that, if FA01772 corresponded with in anything, it means you have passed selection factor, and your eligibility is almost done, whereas RK6165 usually just checks for missing documents.

I think this is true for a lot of cases (by the fact that a lot of May 2012 onwards applications have been receiving document request by RK6165), but not necessarily always the case. Maybe they've been following this forum, and have started changing their modus operandi to make sure nobody can reverse engineer the way they operate.
