If I put my settlement fund into my saving account. When CIC ask for fund proof, I only need show my account activities in savings, I do NOT have to show checking activities or activities in my other accountings in other banks. Am I right?

I sent them all the history of all the accounts. Partly because I transfer money from one to another and they can see that the account number where money is coming from is also mine(chequing). Just a personal thought.

I'm wondering about that too. Did you ever send them an inquiry (tell them that a decision has been made on the application and you're wondering what's going on)? Also, as you said, it could be your criminality check that is still ongoing (though I'm not sure). Is there anyway that you can check whether the Mexican authorities have sent the PCC they requested? And did you ever order CAIPS notes?

How about your credit card? Was it charged?

Yes they took the money after 2 days of receiving my application....I worried about mu experience letter. I got it from my home country for 6 years working as a teaching assistant+lecturer, I do not know if I will face the same problem of not matching the NOC ....

Guys, I finally received their response regarding the rejection of my application:

Dear *****: We have no record of receiving any e-mail from you in January 2013 concerning additional letters of reference. We have checked our records and we cannot find any indication that we have received this message that you have claimed to have sent.

In the absence of any evidence that demonstrates that this office had your documents prior to the date of our decision, our final decision on your application must stand.


Any suggestion as how I can prove my claim.

This is interesting. Where did you send the additional letter to? Did you send it by mail, courier, Canadapost, email? Email records, tracking number, any records you can show them would be helpful I guess. What about your CAIPS notes? And I hope you have been preparing (or have sent) your new application all this time?

That means they accept updated reference letters!
Did you sent it by email? If so, forward them it again to prove that you sent it at that date before. If it was through Canada Post or a courier try the tracking number.

It seems to be some sort of an implicit admission that they will have to consider letters that are sent in between date of submission and date of assessment. Of course the additional information cannot be contradictory.

If I'm not mistaken, there have been cases where people have been rejected because their supplementary explanation letter is way too different than the first one, and that it contains contradictions. I'll see if I can find a link to the thread (it's somewhere in the CEC sub-forum IIRC).

When did you send them the e-mail inquiring about your rejection ?

You can forward to them the automatic response that you should have got when you sent your additional letter e-mail. You may also forward the e-mail again to them, it will show that it was sent before in Jan.

I think it means they accept providing a new reference letter from the applicant, but for sure there is no guarantee that the decision will be positive.

I have a concern about the RA hours here. My university assumes every graduate students to have 40 hours/week RAship, no matter how much they earn. I have RAship of 19,000/year, which is $9.13/hour. Is it OK for the PhD stream? I am in my second year so I'd like to change the contract if needed.

Do you mean future employer?

I checked some online template and used N/A or undetermined for these spaces.
I can not attach the template link in this forum. You could google "post graduate work permit canada form 5710" for it. "Example of a completed application form - Université d'Ottawa" is the one.
