Hey Guys, quick question

Say if we were to send in my spousal sponsorship application processed via Sydney office) and then move overseas for a period of up to 1 year. Will there be any problems? ie. with notifications during the process, getting back into Canada etc.

Hey CaM,

Can you elaborate a bit on your application because there are a lot of things that could differ depending on your case for instance is your partner a Canadian Citizen or a PR? Will you be out exactly a year? (The COPR has an expiry date, usually 1 year from medical exam or passport expiry date, whichever is sooner).

Ok sorry that may have been a bit brief.

I am a NZ citizen who came on a working holiday and then switched to a visitor visa. My partner is a Canadian citizen. Currently I am awaiting a positive LMO for the job I used to work at and am preparing the forms for spousal sponsorship by my partner to be sent come January.

We are not certain 100% on our plans yet but it is possible this will happen...

- Gain positive LMO and flagpole to become a worker
- Spousal sponsorship will be sent Jan
- We holiday back in NZ for 1 month in Feb (have return tickets already as my brother is getting married)
- Return to Canada and continue to work same job until approx Nov
- Go back to NZ to live for up to 1 year
- Return to Canada ( by this time I would have my spousal sponsorship for Canada)

8)

PS - As I posted in the visitor section I am in a slight dilemma as my visitor visa expires Jan 10 and I have not yet recieved my LMO. I am wondering if I should just wait and then flagpole or try to re-extend as a visitor incase I don't get my LMO in time. It has already been 3 months in processing however

Thanks
