Preparing our application. Need help please!

Definitely submit the India photos as well as an explanation. The photos will show that your families were there, know about the marriage, support you and were celebrating with you, which is important. The explanation is needed to show why the "wedding" photos were taken in India when the...

Need your help on sponsored spouse immegration

For spousal applications going through Beijing, stage 1 takes about a month and 80% of applications get through stage 2 in 9 months or less. Processing time varies, though, and it sounds like you have a straightforward case, so you could get through stage 2 faster.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a copy of your file once you've ordered it? I ordered mine last November and haven't heard anything yet.

    Got marriage before immigration

I always figured it was to prevent people from trying to sponsor unrelated people as "family" after they had landed, possibly for money. This sort of thing: :-[ This is, uh... my daughter! Yeah, my daughter. 8) She's 17, why wasn't she your daughter a year ago? :-[ ... I forgot? 8) Nope. I...

There is always a chance, though in her case it's probably a very small one. Did you apply inland or outland?

Canadian immigration and how they view marriage

Where you get married won't matter. The important thing to keep in mind is that they want it to look like you got married to be together, not solely to get into Canada. What might matter is whether you have family at the wedding, as a wedding with family attending looks more "normal". Even this...

    Seeking advice for spousal sponsorship!

I can only give info on a few of these: 1. Keep in mind that you can apply outland while inside of Canada. If you apply inland, you don't have the right of appeal and if you have to leave Canada and get denied re-entry, your application is abandoned. If you apply inland, you may be eligible for...

    Depression

No, they shouldn't reject your wife because of her depression. They only reject a spouse for a medical issue if the spouse is a danger to others--TB is the big one, but even then I think they just make the spouse go through treatment and then re-do the medical.

What else can we add for proof of our common-law relationship?

Your relationship proof seems fine, but thew cohabitation proof might be a bit shakier. Did the two of you have cars or driver's licenses registered to the same address? Do you have any texts/emails for the time period that your lease doesn't cover? Anything where you discussed moving in would...

    Proof of relationshp

The proof of relationship isn't separate for the sponsor and the applicant. It's good to have pieces from both sides, but you don't need to duplicate anything she's already done.

Questions for Sponsoring My Pregnant Wife from Abroad

If the baby is born in Canada, it will likely be covered by OHIP right away (as a Canadian citizen). This means that any medical care the baby needs would be covered, but any medical care your wife needs would not. If the child is born outside of Canada, then the same rules will apply that apply...

    Question about building Canadian credit

This isn't exactly true. Multiple checks in a short time for the same thing aren't counted negatively--if you're buying a car, and 4 car dealers check your credit score last week, it's assumed that you bought/will buy a car (not 4 cars). What's bad is lots of different kinds of recent checks in...

OTTAWA PROTEST ON FORGOTTEN/DELAYED BUFFALO CASES

They're saying that only 15% of Buffalo files have been processed since Buffalo closed? And that they want "most" of them to be done by September? September 2013 is 15 months after the closure! That's 15 months + ??? since these people actually filed their applications. And if they've only...

    Refused, Re-apply or Appeal?

If you're getting married in 3 months, your best bet is almost certainly to wait until then and then reapply. Generally, a couple doesn't qualify as conjugal if they can get married.

When you say 'visitor in Canada', was that long or short term visiting? If you went and stayed in a hotel for a week, that doesn't need to be listed. The place you and your wife are currently leasing should be listed, though.
