Hi All,

Currently I am working in Canada on Work permit. My visa was under exempt category. (Intra company transfer.)

Now for PR, do I need to get LMO or AEO.

Thanks
Priyum

Thanks.

In CIC website, if we are already in canada on work permit then LMO is required but not AEO.

1) If you are currently working in Canada:

your current employer must have made an offer to give you a permanent job if you are accepted as a federal skilled worker, and
your temporary work permit must be valid both when you apply for a permanent resident visa and when the visa is issued.

In addition:

your work permit must have been confirmed by Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) through a positive labour market opinion or
you must be in a category that is exempt from an Arranged Employment Opinion

in order for your offer of employment to be valid.

Could you please confirm.

Thanks
Priyum

Thanks PMM.

So though I am working in Canada on exempt work permit still I can apply for AEO.

I was in assumption that AEO needs to be applied only from outside Canada.

Could you please clear this.

Thanks again.

1. The AEO is applied for by the employer, it doesn't matter where the applicant is, in or out of Canada. Note the processing time for an AEO is about 7 months.

Your employer would have to apply for the LMO. They would have to advertise the position on the job bank for 2 week and then convince HRSDC why there were no Canadians/PRs qualified for the position and the wages must be equal to the local norm.

New work permit and then with a letter from the employer stating they employ you full time once you have your PR, then you can apply for FSW2

Hi,

Today I was going through AEO application and the first question is:

Do you currently employ or intend to employ the foreign worker before he/she becomes a permanent resident?

If yes, an Arranged Employment Opinion may not be required to support the permanent residence application of the foreign worker through arranged employment. Consult the following HRSDC website for further information:

so i am confused whether to go for AEO or LMO.

could any one help me on this.

Thanks
