Hello Everyone!

1. I am wondering if it is required to provide address proof of last 4 years for Citizenship application in section 6 (E) ? I suppose, I don't have to write, visits (vacation) to other countries in this section, correct?

2. In work/education section: i did not study in past 4 years so i checked No so does that mean that I don't have to submit my education documents at all those I have done before 4 years? I worked for last 4 years except few days when i immigrated to canada and started searching for a job. What should I do to fill the gap? Also, do I have to provide work history proof documents?

3. I am sending my masters degree along with a consolidated mark sheet for all semesters for Language ability. Would that be fine? I also have my bachelors degree and grade 12 certificate. please advice.

1. No proofs required. No holidays etc., only places you lived.
2. If you didn't study, there's no need for education records. It's always good to provide work records (T4s, some pay stubs etc.), though it seems CIC removed this requirement. I would still enclose the work proofs. If you were unemployed for any period of time during the required years, you need to disclose it. Write you were looking for a job, it's the truth.
3. I'm assuming you attended a university in Canada. Masters is fine as well as any transcripts.

Good luck :)

Thank u. I did my masters in my home country not in Canada. I appreciate your valuable input.
Was it in English? You will have to prove the courses were in English. You can also submit a part of your thesis as a language proof (of course it has to be written in Eng).

For the address requirement in the last 4 years, I used to live in my home Country then I visited another country for 2 weeks for a vacation before coming permanently to Canada. My address in these 2 weeks should be mentioned as my home country or the other country I visited.

Thank you

I believe your passport have an entry for your vacation trip. Then list everything in reverse chronolgical, ie. starting with present address.

Canada - Three years or what ever you are here.
Other country - Vacation - Two weeks
Home country - remaining period to complete four years

If there is no record for your movements; it may be a different way.

Be careful here:
CIC instruction clearly says:

"...We will only accept documents on this list. We will not accept documents that are not on this list, even if they are similar."

1) the results of a CIC-approved third-party test, or
2) evidence of completion of secondary or post-secondary education in English or French, in Canada or abroad, or
3) evidence from certain government-funded language training programs.

Note: You must have successfully finished a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement. If the original document is in a language other than English or French then you must also include a letter from the academic institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with an official translation of the original document.

I will suggest you go here and make sure it is acceptable. If it doesn't, you have enough time to prepare now.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/language.asp

I am saying this because many people get their applications returned just because they send their Master/Ph.D documents, under-guessing the language proof; unfortunately CIC only like to accept.

If your degree is from a non-native english speaking country, then you have to prove this:

"Note:You must have successfully finished a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement. The diploma, certificate or transcript should be in English or French. The document must clearly show that the program was completed with English or French as the language of instruction. If the original document is not in English or French then you must also include a letter in English or French from the institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with a translation of the original document."

The document checklist on CIC's homepage explicitly states that the transcripts have to say that the secondary school programme was taught in English or French.

You never know what CIC officer will think when they open your application package. Many applicants reported CIC returned application for language proof even having certificates like yours. In brief CIC will not accept a foreign degree from a non-English speaking country as a language proof.

If your document doesn't state that it was taught in English/Fench; and if you wish so, take CELPIP G-LS for $150 which is CIC designed English language test only on Listening and Speaking. Or get it free through YMCA if you can wait for some time.

The YMCA of Greater Toronto does not offer any language training, just the assessment that is needed for it. Instead, language classes are offered by many different partner organizations in the community. The Language Assessment and Referral Centre will provide the information you need to find the class that is right for you.

Everything written in English doesn't prove it was taught in English as the medium of instruction. In many former English/French colonies; formal/official language of communication at Govt. level is still English/French but that is not true/enough where the medium of education is considered.
As far I don't know where you are from / or see your certificates what I can best suggest is; if you are in doubt just walk in YMCA/Library/Neighborhood office with your certificates and ask a settlement worker. You have enough time if you start ahead.

You need to include a letter from your university that the courses were in English. It shouldn't be a problem. Just contact your university and request such a formal letter.
