I faced same issue. I am sure you are using adobe reader to fill the form. Download foxit reader to fill the form and the issue will be resolved. Let me know how it goes.

Great thanks, will try that one for sure. On a side note I called CiC today and was told that filling out the form by hand will be acceptable as well. She was not sure if CIC will issue any notification on this or if there will be any update to the form though.

I had no problems filling out the form. Had already filled in 2 sets of forms for each of my parents all ready to submit in Dec 2016.

But not selected in lottery.

So I dun understand why some of you who are selected have SO MUCH problems.

The typing issues are in New form issued in 2017. I can see why you didn't have issues there as you used 2016 version for the set of documents.

I had no problems filling out the form. Had already filled in 2 sets of forms for each of my parents all ready to submit in Dec 2016.

The income required for 5 people is:

You are not eligible to apply. Wasted a spot.

FYI- My income is low only in 2014 because I came to Canada only in July end.

spoke to an immigration lawyer. You can still apply and they will look at the aggregate numbers and average numbers. Does not mean the spot is wasted.

Or we could click option let them go for IRCc fir future reference and can attach NOV which we have from last three year. Is there any harm to do it???

Pretty bad advice. There is no rule around "averages" for income. You either meet it in a particular year, or you don't.

So if once submits an app with even a single year off by $1 from LICO, could see their app rejected 2-3 years later. Of course they will also miss out on applying for lottery in future years while waiting to be rejected.

Quick question about form IMM5406E (Additional Family Information).
The instruction at the top of the form says "The principal applicant, their spouse and common-law partner(if applicable), and ALL dependent children 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form.

We are kind of confused about this.
1. How can dependent children be 18 years of age or older? except for disabled children
2. I don't see how they can fill their own copy of the form because they cannot be the Applicant.

Please our seniors in the game, please help out. Thanks a lot!

I reached out to my MP office last week and she was going to call Immigration and ask about a redraw. She phoned me today and advised me that they had received a bulletin from Immigration and they will be doing a redraw once they see how many COMPLETE application they have. Yes they will be still drawing from the pool that has people in there that don't qualify but at least its another chance this year.

Every person who is included in application will have to complete IMM5406E.

Ans for Q1 from you is basically for the dependent children with special conditions and over 18 yrs.
Ans for Q2, When the form is filled by spouse of main applicant, consider Spouse's detail in Applicant's box and provide her or his family information.
They collect information from both side of family this way and gather records of all 3 generations to establish the links and run security checks.

Hey Folks.
FYI. My wife got selected to sponsor her parents under this program 2017.

Wa nt to mention - if anyone is feeling pain of missing/forgetting the confirmation number (unlike me), don't worry. Just now we received email from CIC with pdf file having all information required to apply (also deadline is extended, not sure for everyone or just us, before it was 24July for us too.). 8)

Extract from PDF>

"The deadline to submit your complete application to sponsor your Parents and Grandparents has been extended to Friday August 4, 2017. You have 90 days to submit a complete application. Some clients have let us know that they did not keep a copy of their unique confirmation number from their Interest to Sponsor web form. Below is a barcode that will help our agents match your application to the information you submitted when you expressed your interest to sponsor. Please print this document and include it as the first page with the application. *12AB345*

If you have already submitted your application to us, you do not need to take any further actions.

Please Remember:
 Follow all of the steps outlined in the application guide;
 Include all of the supporting documents as per the document checklist;
 If you wish to sponsor your parents AND your grandparents, please submit two separate applications;
 Invitations to apply are not transferable. For example, you cannot use the invitation to sponsor your spouse’s parents or give it to a friend or other family member;
