No one knows if you will make the cap - but most likely yes. We've already have several people post POD times between 6am and 7am. However we know these aren't correct since CIC didn't start accepting applications until 8am. Also, the first courier in the line to drop off applications doens't confirm delivery times even thought we all know they got there first (three small courier companies started lining up the day before - none of the major courier companies did this and so their deliveries arrived later).

thanks for the update, but i am trying to find whom does purolator use for same day deliveries i mean subcontractor???

this system is so unfair anyone has a better suggestion where the cap can remain same but make it more fairer???

when do you think 1st official receipt will be sent by CPC-m to a sponsor that application has been recieved,, how was it for last year??

Use the fee table in the Fee Payment Form – for Sponsors of Parents and Grandparents (IMM 5770) (PDF, 578.76 KB) to calculate the total amount of processing fees to be paid (all fees are in Canadian dollars). Processing Fees for the principal applicant and all accompanying family members must be included with this application. The Right of Permanent Residence fee will not be collected at this time. CIC will request it at a later date.

Payment method options

Only payment by certified cheque or credit card will be accepted using the Fee Payment Form – for Sponsors of Parents and Grandparents (IMM 5770) (PDF, 578.76 KB). Payment by credit card must be authorized for the total amount of processing fees required for the principal applicant and all accompanying family members. The credit card used must continue to be valid for at least nine months after the date on which the application is submitted.


Note Important

Other forms of payment will not be accepted.

I tried to google the difference between bank draft and certified checque. There is a little difference but I cannot give you a definitive answer for this. You can try inquiring with CIC if bank draft is good as a method for payment.

Here is what I found:

A banker's draft (also called a bank cheque, bank draft in Canada or, in the US, a cashier's check) is a cheque (or check) where the funds are taken directly from the financial institution rather than the individual drawer's account.

A certified check or certified cheque is a form of check for which the bank verifies that sufficient funds exist in the account to cover the check, and so certifies, at the time the check is written. Those funds are then set aside in the bank's internal account until the check is cashed or returned by the payee.
