May be you are correct. But, demand can be fulfilled through local Canadian citizen. Why only immigrants need...?

Actually, they closed family program and started this one. So nothing is new with related to jobs market.

Can't see anything about it.. better to wait and watch till 2015 for nomination.

The main difference of the NS Regional Labor Market Demand to the FSWP is their requirement from applicants to submit a Settlement and Employment Plan. This is a very important document and I suggest to everyone applying to pay adequate preparation and thinking in filling up this form. All the other forms that are asked to be submitted are similar to that when applying under FSWP except that the English Proficiency Rating is 5.0 instead of 7.0 and the Settlement/Employment Plan. This particular plan is not asked under the FSWP.

I want to share some of my ideas about the Settlement/Employment Plan.The purpose of the form, to my mind, is for Nova Scotia immigration to determine whether the applicant will become successful if he is granted a permanent visa. This they will find out based on the following information you will include in your plan:

1. Your profession and how much in demand this profession or job is in Nova Scotia. I am not that familiar about Nova Scotia and their economy. But what I did was I look online for job searches for my profession. I found there is great number of companies hiring for my kind of skill. I stated in my plan that my kind of profession is highly in demand proven by the large number of companies that put it in the wanted list and therefore I would have quicker time getting employed after landing in Nova Scotia.

2. Perfect match of my education, years of experience and detailed skills to that listed in the National Occupation Code and to that needed by the prospective employer in Nova Scotia. In the code you will find the detailed functions and duties of the profession. Countries have similar titles for a given profession but they differ as to what they actually perform and responsibilities they handle . Make sure that what you do for example as Engineer or Registered Nurse currently in your country is the same or very close to those described in the code or required by the company in Nova Scotia. This match indicates you can be quickly hired. Of course supporting documents like your Certificates of Employment from your past and current employers showing your specific duties and government license will further boost your chance to settle there easily.

3.The most difficult is when your profession is a regulated one. When it is regulated, you need to secure first a license before you can get employed or work as such. This is difficult because some provinces require that an immigrant take first a reviewer course before he is allowed to take a license exam. This is the requirement for registered nurse in Ontario. I have no idea of the need in Nova Scotia. Therefore if your profession is regulated, you can not find work right away. You will have to take a different kind of job that usually is lower in pay and physically more demanding in order for you to support yourself and your family for the meantime. Now that you are working already, you will be constrained to take review classes and also you will be hindered in doing so because of the expense involved. For those whose professions are regulated, it is compelling they make it clear and well how they intend to get the license when they reach Canada. Failure to do so to my mind will mean outright denial of nomination. I guess one thing that can work for you is if you can show you have enough money to finance the expenses to get the license. Another way, is to show that you obtained a favorable assessment from independent agencies saying that the education and training you got are similar to that of graduates for same courses in Canada.

Well, in the FAQ, they said they will nominate a total of only 150. That is very sad indeed. I guess they have received several thousands of applicants as of today and more are on the way. There is very stiff competition. This favors Nova Scotia because they have so much to select from.

This is a great master piece and i hope it will put a rest to the repeated questions of how a settlement plan must look like.

However, i will strongly advise applicants to tailor their plan in line with the questions. If you read critically, you are not suppose to just do a project/course work on how you intend to stay. The questions outlined and the answers you provide constitute both the employment/settlement plan ( anyone correct me if i am wrong please) on which your intention to settle permanently will be determined.

Just writing without patterning it along the questions asked may amount to another issue.

After thinking about this system I can say one of these scenarios will be happen :
1- First come Fist served : may be they making now queue for all applications as per the date received and then they will open one by one anي select the first one with complete applications
Pros : this method will speed the process with low efforts from them with in week the system will close
Cons : this method will not be with good quality to them a lot of people with real connections to NS will be not nominate and also people with good funds ... etc
2- Point System : My be they declare in the next days or weeks a point system same to Saskatchewan nominate program or may be they will hide this system for them to segregate the applications
Pros : good for N.S with high qualified people will come
Cons : take longer time , difficult with thousands of applications received , shortly they need many people to help them .
3- Lottery system : may be there are a lottery system to screen the applications ..
Pros : speed and simple with less efforts
Cons : No good quality and less qualified people and depend on luck ..

I think they must now announce a method to screen and segregate the applications and to be declared to people .... gradually all the world will send applications ?!! and give bad idea and reputation to immigration office of NS .. Saskatchewan better than Nova Scotia , they declare from the beginning the point system to reduce the amount of applications ..
What is your Idea ??Can any one add number 4 scenario ??

1- First come Fist served : may be they making now queue for all applications as per the date received and then they will open one by one anي select the first one with complete applications
Pros : this method will speed the process with low efforts from them with in week the system will close
Cons : this method will not be with good quality to them a lot of people with real connections to NS will be not nominate and also people with good funds ... etc
2- Point System : My be they declare in the next days or weeks a point system same to Saskatchewan nominate program or may be they will hide this system for them to segregate the applications
Pros : good for N.S with high qualified people will come
Cons : take longer time , difficult with thousands of applications received , shortly they need many people to help them .
3- Lottery system : may be there are a lottery system to screen the applications ..
Pros : speed and simple with less efforts
Cons : No good quality and less qualified people and depend on luck ..

I think they must now announce a method to screen and segregate the applications and to be declared to people .... gradually all the world will send applications ?!! and give bad idea and reputation to immigration office of NS .. Saskatchewan better than Nova Scotia , they declare from the beginning the point system to reduce the amount of applications ..

Scenarios well thought of, your con on first come first served does not hold water. How can you convince me that those who submitted first lack those two criteria you mentioned. Don't you know while some are still moving funds from one account or bank to the other, some have this in place because they were preparing for FSW2014 before now.

However, i can only add that first come first nominate is the most likely method to be adopted irrespective of how many applications received.

Saskatchewan did that in January this year and if you read the Ontario website, they stated the same pattern. NS is most likely to follow same pattern. The intent of collecting so many apps lies with them and i do not want to bother myself about that.

This program is insane. They should have released a point system to prevent wasting people's time and effort.
