Thanks for the positive news. Let's us know that there is some processing going out in Ottawa or NS.

How many in your application? I still believe that many of those who's processing times are longer is due to a larger family size compared to lone applications.
it is part of the equation of course ..

Congrats MsOptimistic,

Hope u get ur PPR soon enough.

I'm applying under FSWP. CPP-O requested me to send new PCC, do medicals, pay RPRF. I did all requirements. My timeline is as follows:

1- We received your application for permanent residence on January 29, 2014.

2- We started processing your application on March 25, 2014.

3- Medical results have been received (Apr 10, 2014).

So far no progress, & I don't know whether to contact them or it's too early. What will be the next step? any advices?

Waiting really sucks & killing

Thnx

Here's question while we're just hanging around.

I've asked this question on it's own thread in the past but the responses seem to miss the context.

So there four in our application. Wife and I and two adult dependents 18-21.

So when our PR is finally approved and we're ready to land, it is likely that it will be just my wife and I.
Our two kids may follow at a later date. If they are not with us when we land, will they be permitted to land in this same approved application at a later date?

If so, for how long would they be eligible to land on our then approved application without having to start the application all over again on their own accord?

As long as their visa is valid they can enter canada on your approved application, but if your children are under 18 then they need to be accompanied by their parents or legal guardian

he means the PR visa that to be used to do the landing.

usually it is valid till the date of the medical result expiry (one year after the medical test results)

Ok. I understand the response now. So if the PR visa happens to be issued two months before medical expiry, it sounds like that's it. Just two months to land.

I wonder if we renewed our medicals on our own just prior to the visa issuance and submitted them if that would reset the clock?

Renewing is not on you, it's on the VO who is processing your file. Medicals are valid for one year and if they are not able to issue you a immigrant visa by the date when your medical will expire, then the VO he's two choices

1) extend your medical, in this case the VO will extend your medical for 3 months.

2) advise you to redo your medicals

Your PR visa validity date will then be decided on the circumstances.

no u cannot do the medicals again for immigration purposes without cic consent
