Hi, a few questions regarding calculating work experience..

My info:
  • After 2 yrs college course graduation, submitted for AGWP on May 19, 2017 (received it in July)
  • 1st Job(NOC B): From Mar 27 - Nov 20, 2017 (Total ensurable hours: 1112)
  • 2nd job(NOC B): From Apr 9 - Dec 21, 2018 (Total ensurable hours: 1344)
  • Had to take work off for 3 months(Jan - Mar 2019) of parental leave for new born baby. (the company reserve my position until I come back)
  • From Apr 1, 2019 until now, I've been working full time for the same company. (approx. 240 hrs so far)
  • Until now, total working hours : 2696

Questions:
  1. For 1st job, I started working from Mar 27, but I submitted for AGWP on May 19, 2017. Then, how should I calculate 1112 hours from the 1st job? Is it all counted? or have to deduct some hours? If so, how many hours should be deducted?
  2. For 2 years work experience, I need 3120 hours and 2 years of work.(so, I need 424 hrs more) In my situation, if I work for another 424 hrs (2 or 3 months, that would be this July or August), would I be eligible for applying 2 yrs work experiences into my Express Entry score? If not, when would I?
  3. Do they credit any hours from the period of parental leave?
Would be much appreciated, if someone can answer my questions.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Based on the information you've provided, you are not eligible to claim 2 years of work experience. It's not just the hours that are required, you must also have the right number of individual weeks to claim the experience. To claim one full year of work experience, you must have 52 separate weeks where you worked at least 30 hours per week. So to claim 2 years of work experience, you must have at least 104 separate weeks where you worked a minimum of 30 hours. Given you had a break in employment from Nov 2017 to April 2018, there's no way you have enough weeks to claim 2 years of work experience. You can claim 1 year.

You need another three months or so of work experience before you'll be able to claim 2 years.

Thanks for your answer.

Then, what about a week off during continuous working period? is it excluded as well?
